I go here several times a week. Everyone is very nice and it is probably my favorite place to eat. Tacos are great, wings are good, great prices.

The best Mexican food I've ever had. The burritios are huge for the prices they charge, and delicious. They come on a plate, with a bit of sauce on top. I'm completely addicted to their chicken burritos!

The workers are friendly and helpful.

Horrific Food

Three of us went to La Palapa Too and 2 of us had horrible food. I ordered the pork burrito with red sauce and was offered a nice looking dish of a mid-sized burrito. The sauce was bland and the worst part was the cubes of meat - they were so fatty that the entire burrito was inedible (I offered a piece to my wife without telling her my opinion, and she also commented how fatty it was). Our friend ordered the Fajita Salad and received a fried tortilla basket filled with iceberg lettuce and a few pieces of grilled shrimp with fajita seasoning on top. Note - the free salsa with chips we got when we sat down had good, warm chips but the salsa was very very thin - about 90% liquid. We believe they are using the CHEAPEST INGREDIENTS POSSIBLE and living off of their location and atmosphere. Drinks were good, but STAY AWAY if you are looking for decent quality food. I went last night (Sat, 4/17/10) and I am still feeling queasy after just 3 bites of that horrible, horrible dinner. With so many good restaurants so close to La Palapa Too, go ANYWHERE ELSE . . .

Good Mexican food

Smaller than the original location, but they still have many of the staples we all love. Their mole is out of this world, and they have a good bar scene. But how can they be both a saloon and a cantina?

Good Mexicn Food

Very good Mexican food in a Central American setting. The food is not over HOT. The combination of tomatoes, cheese, peppers and beans is hard to beat.

From Kliman Online's "Word of Mouth"

From the outside, La Palapa Too has the look and feel of one of those Tex-Mex restaurant franchises that cop all the right details -- the bright colors, the festive vibe, and the peppy music -- yet still succeed into turning the place into something canned and generic.

Inside, it's a different story. La Palapa Too, is, in fact, a spinoff of the original, hugely successful Ellicott City restaurant -- La Palapa. But little about the place comes across as a knockoff. The space is warm, inviting and tasteful, with its wrought-iron lamps and dramatic, color-washed walls. And the cooking has more than its share of surprises.

Given its location, a strip mall servicing the dense clusters of office buildings in and around Columbia, the likes of fajitas, quesadillas, and taco salads on the menu are probably to be expected. But even as the restaurant makes sure to feed the lunchtime and happy hour masses, it manages to slip in a bit of ambition, too. There's a wonderfully complex, gently seasoned tortilla soup; a fabulous asado de puerco served in a bubbling crock (its thick, cumin-stoked red chili sauce cloaking rough-cut chunks of braised pork); and a lushly creamy version of tres leches cake.

I prefer actual pieces of stewed chicken in my mole, rather than clean-cut slices, and the kitchen isn't above oversalting at times. But these are quibbles. I'd be eager to return to explore more of the menu
