Overall
Facility
Instruction

As highlighted on the Primrose corporate website, “90% of a child’s brain develops in the first five years.” Well, in the 3.75 months that our children attended preschool here, approximately 6% of their cognitive development has been lost, and we refuse to let any more time and burgeoning brain cells go to waste by sending our kids to this facility.
The school initially appeared to be a great fit based on our initial (false) impression of the ownership and management. However, after noticing the daily pattern of our preschoolers coming home with no homework, no assignments, and no newly learned skills to share, it became evident that we were, in effect, paying a premium for daycare-level babysitting.

The problem trickles down from the top. The owner is dismissive, condescending, and pretentious in her interactions with staff. The staff, in turn, suffers from lack of support, training, and basic respect from management (in addition to unfair pay). The result is a teacher staff that is dissatisfied and unequipped to foster the type of skill and learning development that Primrose touts. Look at Glassdoor employee reviews for Primrose – Lawrenceville for first-hand evidence of this.

If you're in search of a school that will prepare your children by helping them to develop their passion for learning, then this is not the place for you. There are better educational choices in the area for the same cost. On the other hand, if you just need someone to watch your children while you’re at work, skip the pretentiousness and save yourself a penny or two elsewhere.

Overall

Beware - anyone considering Primrose as school teacher. As a former teacher I can tell you this is not where you want to be. The owner is very selfish and disrespectful and the management is horrible!

They will recruit staffs (teacher) for a certain position and promise certain hours, but these staffs never get what they were promised. The management also continuously switch/move the teachers from one room to another (floater) in order to maintain the ratio. In other occasion they also move the children room to room in order to reduce the need for extra teacher for that room.

Teachers are treated like slaves, like they own them! Management and the owner talk to the staffs very disrespectfully. They change staff schedule everyday. Many times, teachers are asked to go back home, soon after they come to work, so that they can save some bucks!

There are mandatory volunteering for the teachers, several times in a year! The owner recruit as many teacher (on her list) as possible, so that she can get a larger tax deduction from this volunteering.

There is a Huge Turn over in this school. Every week they are recruiting new teachers, because no one can stay! Not even a simple cook can work peacefully. In my first two months I have seen at least 5 cook came and go...! Most staff, I know left with a broken heart, but no one dared to mention it to the management, because of future job reference! Most teachers who survived longer...are those who have small children (goes to Primrose), who will struggle to pay for childcare elsewhere ; and the other ones are Spanish speaking teachers -who does not know how to communicate in English, just hanging on since they have nowhere else to go!!

Owner is also very inconsiderate to her regular, faithful employee of their well being, or any personal need. it is amazing that even though the owner has no consideration for her staff she continuously asks (puts indirect pressure) the teachers to go online and like her school website or vote for it. If someone do not praise her school, this person become an enemy to her.

It is also very unfortunate that even though parents pays a good amount of tuition fees, their children do not get the best service in this facility. The bibs and the cleaning cloths or the bedsheets they use are pretty much beaten up, torn and old!. Teachers are asked not to dispose any old material because they will make it work anyway. Owners favorite slogan is "I have a business to run"

It is all about business, not about the children or their welfare! The parents pay a huge tutution fees yet the owner continuously beg the parents and the teacher to donate....for every occasion. The Children's are confused and feel insecure because they have to see new faces every week!

Every parents and teachers should consider all these facts before they apply for any position or put their children in this school.
