In the spring I always get an invasion of pavement ants in my entryway and kitchen. How can I prevent this from happening?
Spiders

Termites

Yellowjackets
If you notice the yellow jackets coming in or out of a wall, do not seal or plug the hole they are entering/exiting - doing this may force them to find another exit and it could be into your home/office. Stay clear of the yellow jacket nest after locating it and call STAR PEST CONTROL for assistance.
Pantry Pests
Mites
Pill Bugs
Boxelder Bugs
Last fall we had a problem with box elder bugs and had to have a professional come out and treat our house. What can we do this year to keep this from being a problem again?
Minimize the amount of harborage (places where the rodents can take refuge from the outdoors) available in your home/office. Keep firewood off the ground and away from your home. Remove piles of debris, stones, bricks and leaves from your foundation. Seal holes and cracks in your structure that would allow mice/rodents into your home/office - anything larger than 1/4 of an inch will enable mice/small rodents access to the interior.
Mice
Most of our preventive pest services feature outdoor perimeter treatment sprays or the installation of bait stations. If you anticipate a problem with fall invaders such as lady bugs or cluster flies, we will utilize a whole-house perimeter treatment starting at the roof (including eaves and windows) all the way down to your foundation. For spring invaders (spiders, wasps, bees, etc.), we will put down a one-time annual application around the perimeter of your home or business and will also spray under decks and behind shutters where these pests will harbor. For small rodents such as mice and rats, we will install and maintain bait stations around the outside of the building and will set up an agreement - based on your specific needs - to inspect the stations on a regular basis.
