Pierce Bros. Mortuaries & Cemeteries are respected and longtime providers of exceptional funeral service to Los Angeles County.
Westwood Village Mortuary & Memorial Park is Westwood's "Secret Hide-a-Way". I was honored to work at this location as a mortuary counselor in the early 1990's when I was As a licensed mortician & embalmer in Michigan, I was quickly offered a position. No embalming, but still a job in funeral service at age 27.
For the short period of my "California experience", I was daily reminded of how we honor our dead. Especially, famous people. It's comforting to know that so many different people come into the cemetery daily to visit Marilyn Monroe's crypt, walk amongst the grass and see grave markers for the likes of Natalie Wood, Minnie (Ripperton) Rudolph, Mel Torme, Truman Capote, Merv Griffin , Jim & Hennie Baccus, Heather O'Rourke, Eve Arden West, Dorothy Stratton, Dominique Dunn, Sebastian Cabot, Dree Davidson and so many others.
Many came during their lunch breaks, if just to sit amongst the trees and have a sandwich before returning to their busy offices just yards away.
This is Westwood Memorial Park. Wilsher & Glendon. Westwood Village, California.
I've had the chance to work with many types of families overs the years and have found that they all bear the common thread of the death of a loved one.
