Overall
Good shop

Safe and Sound electronics operates in a fairly small niche - auto electronics (stereo, alarm systems, etc.)

This niche is full of small shops. Many of them are not particularly professional.

Safe and Sound is a *very* professionally run shop.

If you're looking for the lowest price, you won't necessarily find it here.

However, they do an excellent job in everything from discussing your needs, helping you formulate a solution, installing it, and giving support afterwards.

I've had two remote start / alarm systems installed (one on a Honda Passport, and one on a Honda CR-V).

In both cases, I was happy with the outcomes, and feel that I got what I paid for.

I'm thinking about bringing my car back to do a stereo upgrade with these guys.

I would recommend them.

Fabulous Service

I purchased a remote start as a gift for my Mom. They were able to give us great feedback on all the brands available and helped us pick one that was just right (not the most expensive either!). We traveled from Maryland and spent the day shopping in town while the work was done. They completed it in the time frame promised and you couldn't even tell work was done. We are very happy with the gift and service they gave us!

Best Choice

I've had remote engine starters installed in four different cars now by Safe & Sound and everytime they've been easy to deal with and do great work. One stopped working the other day so I dropped by and they replaced the remote under warranty within five minutes. I recomend them highly.

Surpise Surpise

after hearing reading a few good reviews I decided to stop by and see if Safe & Sound could help with a radio question for my Mercedes E320. After explaining the problem to Mark (manager?) I was told that the only option to getting a decent ipod sound into the radio was to replace the entire audio system. He then gave me a quote for $8000.00 and needless to say I left disappointed. I feel nothing was explained to me, and just pushy arrogant sales. I will never step foot in the store, nor recommend to anyone I know.

Strange after looking through our database I couldn't find a Larry McDanials. I'm very sorry we didn't have the solution you'd hoped existed. Most shops would have said simply "there's nothing we can do". Of course we hate to use those words and always like to have some kind of solution albeit expensive. Even when iPod adapters are available they are often difficult to use and lack any kind of sound quality thus adding an aftermarket radio is almost always the best solution. Since Mercedes uses the M.O.S.T (media oriented systems transport) buss system the only way to add anything aftermarket is to replace at least the head unit and amplifier which can easy get expensive. On our front door there's a sign that reads "if you're not satisfied with our service in any way please call me" and lists my personal cell phone number. I/we will always do whatever it takes regardless of cost to make you, the customer happy.
