I have to agree with the other reviews on here..I am here at Maplewood Care Center as i type this review..
I have been here for the last year and a half.. I was put here after a motorcycle accident.... I finally found a place to live soo i am leaving here in a week or two...
I am a 52 year old healthy male that has fully healed after my accident...
If you stand outside on the side of the building you can hear people on second floor yelling "HELP ME,HELPME" sometimes this goes on for hours..
Most of the aids that work here are Somolian, black, that can hardly speak english and they are very lazy.
I could go on for hours about the negative stuff but i don't want to.... Most of the resident here look to me for help because the aids do a lot of ignoring...
The food is not bad, thats about the only good thing i have to say..
You will just have to experience Maplewood Care Center yourselves but hopefully you don't have to...

My mother is in this place as of now for short term. My wife and I have witnessed people almost begging for help. We have helped other people get back into their rooms and beds as we are visiting my mother. I am trying to get her moved into another place. She had a heart attack and the only reason I found out is talking to my mom on the phone and she told me. The care center did not call me and let me know. This place is horrible.

My mother was taken here afer a recent case of the flu for trans.care. The first night she was there they stuck her in a room w/lady. She got no supper she reported to me. The following am she did not get a breakfast. I told her to ask for one, they finnally got her something close to noon. She kept calling me to complain. I asked if she could have a private room No one knew. Finally the next day she was moved to a private room at the end of the hall one 1st fl. the room was like ice and she kept calling me complaining of cold, bad food and that no one ever answered the light the turn for as long as 20/30 min at a time. I started to document all complaints from her. She called and said she asked for her medication and they refused. She was in a great deal of pain so I called to talk to the suprev. This person assured me she would take care of it. I let her know that mom's reg doctor wanted a call from them. This never happened. Two days later she told me they finnally got her tylenol 3. My mom kept calling everyfew hours with complaints that the food was all dried out , she never got various meals and that they lost the menus that she was filling out daily. She told me that the nurses kept leaving her just sit in a wheel chair and would never come back. she said she almost had several accidents becaust they did not respont to the light on. I called the manager again. She again told me she would take care of it. Mom called and said she had been left in the same clothes for three days because everyone was looking for her clothes. Someone had taken them from her to wash. This happened when she first came in an i had to ask the laundry girl to look for her bath robe because that was lost. Sat. 8 days later she told me her numerous requests for a bath were going to be met. Sat eve i asked if she had her bath, diapointedly she said NO! I was agast that she still had not gotten to brush her teeth or get a bath after ( 8 ) days. She told me she was sick of smelling herself. After my third complaints to the manag. Mom reported that in the middle of the night some lady in a pink robe came into her room and used the bathroom, peed al over the floor. Mom aske the nurse what she was doin in her room. The nurse reported that the woman wanders around all the time . After my third complaint a nurse came into my moms room picked up the chairs and threw them toward the windows then she picked up the walker and threw that, my mom was scared of this staff member and i made another complaint about how awful this place is. Sun. I went to spend time with her I witnessed no responce to the light on. Around 5pm i asked when she ate. Now. 5:30 I asked when do they bring your food, Now. 6:00 when are you going to ear dinnner. Turn the light on 18min later i waved to a male nurse down the hall to come over to the room. I said that my mom had not gotten dinner. He came with a plate it had a old hoggie bun with dried up black meat on it it looked like shoe leather and was hard to hard to chew another lady came it with another dish an tray looked like it had been zapped over a two day period. I commented that it was to dry for her to eat and did they have somthing she could put on it. The pesponce was that it was like Arby's I commented that it looked so bad i wouldent' feed it to my dog. Needless to say my mom went without food again because she coul not eat that old dried up crap. The heat was on off maint had to repair. Phone was on off This is a disgusting place. I had a staff member threaten me when i tried to take my mom home. DO NOT place any loved ones here.
