HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was driving behind a UGI truck which uses Donegal Insurance. While driving on Rt. 22 heading on to Rt. 33S. a metal spacer flew off the back of the truck and hit the hood of my car, then hit my windshield, the proceeded to bounce off my car and hit another car. The other car tried to drive down the truck but the vehicle made a turn onto the off ramp. The other driver was not able to get over. Nonetheless, I did follow him down and he stated it was very possible something flew off that was small and was under the vacuum unit or tool chest. For their insurance, we filed a police report which took over an hour of my day. The police showed up and seen that the scrape on my hood was still fresh and paint was easily peeling by touching it. This was also inspected by the drivers 2 supervisors. The glass was still fresh with a light power from when it hit the glass. After not hearing back for almost 2 MONTHS, I called and a rep named Jennifer F. said in her rude voice " yeah the reason you didn't receive anything is we are denying the claim" I asked "how is that even possible? She replies " we did our own investigation into this and we are denying you cause the driver had walked around his vehicle prior to leaving".. are your SERIOUS? What is this, insurance companies now have the ability to investigate themselves and deny claims? I have never in 37 years had anything like this happen and the way she came off at me was totally unprofessional. You can tell that Jennifer is having a bad day or maybe is a permanent thing. The only good thing to come out of this is that I am fortunate to have a job i can sleep at the end of the night and not to scam people. The insurance business must be a great business with these practices put in place. And UGI, i hope this is the NOT the example you want to show local residents in the Lehigh Valley on how we should be treated.
MARIETTA, PENNSYLVANIA -- Their insured ran a red light, hit my wife's vehicle with our children inside and claim that we are 10% negligible for the accident. Police report clearly states Donegal's insured driver ran a red light, also confirmed by their driver's daughter and a witness who stopped. The insured motorist or the company never once apologized. We thought this was pretty cut and dry, their insured ran a red light and hit our vehicle. Representative Adam and Supervisor Gus claim that we were partially at fault. No integrity what so ever, absolute joke. Please use your local insurance agent instead of giving business to a bunch of crooks.
