Mark Chernoff is a graduate of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, New Brunswick campus. He studied under master musician Ralph Bowen, and during his time in college, he interacted and played with many famous and influential musicians, such as Conrad Herwig, Bill O’Connell, Stanley Cowell, Mike Richmond, Victor Lewis, Radam Schwartz, Kevin Hildebrandt, Richie McCrae, Don Williams, and many more. He believes in a strong technical approach to every instrument he teaches, combining logic with intuition to create a unique player and soloist out of any student. His main instrument is saxophone, with secondary instruction in clarinet, flute, and beginner piano.
