Kitchen Remodeling
Black & White Images ), this kitchen renovation in Falmouth was cramped and outdated. The limited space made it challenging to move around and lacked the functionality needed for a modern kitchen. Outdated fixtures and a single-pane window contributed to high energy consumption, while the swinging French door further wasted valuable space.
Bathroom Remodeling
This bathroom remodel presented several challenges as you can see in the before-during and after pictures below. The plumbing in the house was an absolute disaster that required us to install a new waste line to the septic and then a complete replacement of the plumbing for this rabbit warren of a bathroom. In the addition, the post and beam construction limited our design and build options and we had to be creative with the placement of the fixtures.
Flooring
There is extensive custom tilework throughout this bathroom. The shower features a slot drain, zero curb and river rock tile. There is in-floor heat under all of the tile. The vanity which is custom designed and built, provides plenty of storage. We rounded off this project by installing prefinished bamboo flooring in the master suite and by replacing all of the doors throughout the house with solid 5 panel shaker style doors.
Door Installation/Replacement
Our solution involved not only removing the old cabinets and expanding the walls for necessary upgrades but also incorporating energy-efficient windows and doors. The result was a beautifully transformed kitchen that's not only more functional but also a visual delight, with unique design elements that reflect the essence of Cape Cod.
Drywalls
We had some issues with structure once the drywall was removed in some areas, but John explained the issues along with pictures and made the decision to fix the issues easy. We had one issue with a wrong accent tile strip being ordered, but John fixed the issue before we even had time to worry about it.
Framing
A client purchased this condo in Maushop Village which is part of New Seabury a seaside resort located on Cape Cod! They asked @designREMODEL to design and complete a full makeover of the original condo that was in dire need of updating. We installed an all new kitchen, added more cabinet space and installed granite countertops. The wide pine floors were refinished, outdated wallpaper was removed and all of the walls, ceilings and trim received a fresh coat of paint. In the second floor bath,we removed the bubble tub/shower surround and corrected numerous issues with the plumbing and wall framing. We installed a new cast iron shower base topped by a full tile surround and a rolling shower door. We upgraded all of the electrical devices and installed new lighting fixtures from Restoration Hardware.
Tile Installation
We took a blah brown kitchen in Cotuit and transformed it into a fresh white kitchen which was complemented by the stunning tile work.
Ceiling Fans
Considerations for Air Circulation and Odor Prevention: Proper air circulation involves ensuring that air flows freely throughout the kitchen space, reducing stagnant areas. Using air vents or ceiling fans can aid in improving air circulation. Incorporating features like grease traps and carbon filters in ventilation systems helps control and minimize odors.

This Waquoit home was purchased by our clients in late 2012 and we were asked to correct many of the problems that were prevalent throughout. We replaced shag carpeting in many rooms with wide pine flooring. All of the uninspired interior doors were replaced with Shaker style wood doors that have oil rubbed bronze hardware. We replaced much of the mismatched interior trim. All of the electrical fixtures were updated including plugs and switches. Custom bookshelves were built and the unsafe and poorly designed railing was replaced. In the Master bath we installed a new tile surround at the tub and installed a new vanity, top and fixtures. All of the floors on 3 levels were refinished and the entire house repainted. The garage loft received a complete make over. Next up after the summer of 2013, is to remodel the kitchen and create a new lower level bathroom and laundry space. This project was finished on time and within budget!
