South Seas Trading Compan

This should be NO stars! At this moment, I am threatening to file fraud and theft charges on this company. They took a large deposit for a custom order in January. I was supposed to have received the piece in 6 months, which was OK. Nothing I've been told ever happened, and instead of letting me know the status of my order, I always had to contact them. Always excuses, delays, and no communication. After 10 months of this, they said they would refund my deposit. I've been waiting for the check for 5 weeks-- last time

they said it was mailed 2 weeks ago. It should only take 3 days, and I'm now believe this is a scam operation. Beware of this business and their new site, syntheticwicker.com!!!

I had a wonderful experience purchasing furniture at South Seas Trading Company. This Company is extremely reliable when it comes to orders, delivers, and helpful employees. I have purchased a couple outdoor chairs and tables that have lasted for a couple years now, still in great condition. Highly recommended!

Back in January (2012) I ordered a custom teak cabinet from Donna, the owner of South Seas Trading. Delivery was estimated at three months. And so our construction crew built out a drywall enclosure to house the cabinet. In March, the unit had not arrived. So I started communicating with Donna. Between March and August, 2013, she reassured me over and over that it was arriving anytime. It never did. In August, we cancelled the order since it seemed likely this would go on forever. We then had to redo the enclosure we built at great expense. Getting a refund was no fun either. It took about two weeks. I'm very sorry I did business with this company.

In October 2010 we placed a large order with South Seas Trading Company for a house under construction in the Virgin Islands. We paid in full up front, with an estimated arrival in three months from Indonesia. South Seas owners Donna and Gary processed our payment but neglected to order the furniture. After three months, In January 2011, we phoned about the delivery date only to discover there was no furniture on order. The RUSH order they placed in January was estimated to arrive in March but after many delays it reached Miami in July. Because they had neglected to place the order in October, Donna and Gary said they would cover the $2200 shipping cost from Miami to the Virgin Islands. Instead they shipped it C.O.D. with a promise to reimburse us in August...then in September...then in November. To date they have reimbursed only half the shipping price. The furniture is well made and handsome, but the customer service side of the experience was the worst we've ever had anywhere.
