So I've been coming to Kiku at least once a month since I moved to Milwaukee about eight months ago. Up until now, I've always dined in and had a really positive experience. This review is not about dining in at the restaurant. This review is about their delivery service through their website.
The key fact is that I didn't get my food for two hours. Two hours. I ordered veggie spring rolls and three basic maki rolls, and I live less than a mile away. (I normally walk, but I didn't want to commit that much time on this occasion.) I called after an hour and a half to ask where my food was, and I heard the woman who answered say to a co-worker that she didn't see my order anywhere in the system. She then told me that there was an issue with the delivery man, and that my food would arrive in a half hour.
When the delivery person arrived, he was from a third party, not from Kiku. He said there was a delivery fee still owed, but didn't seem surprised when I told him that there shouldn't be one. He said that they had probably called him after I called them, that he had actually paid for my order himself, and that he would go argue with them about the delivery fee. I felt badly for both of us.
Needless to say, my appetizer and my sushi were both approaching room temperature upon arrival.
My suggestion: If you want delivery, get it somewhere else.

My wife and I were struggling to find a sushi place downtown that was open for a late Sunday lunch; finally we found Kiku. That ended being one of the worst decisions I've made all week. We walked in to a stuffy atmosphere which was accompanied by the smell of old stinky fish. This would normally have turned us away, but we were hungry and really wanted to eat sushi. After ordering we decided to look online at some reviews, most of which warned about bad service. We are not ones to judge based on hearsay, so we patiently waited for our food. We ordered 5 rolls, which came out in a modest amount of time. Surprised and pleased by the sheer size of the rolls, we dug in. After about 6 pieces or so of truly mediocre at best sushi, my wife (who is blonde) finds a nice long black hair underneath one of the pieces of fish on the outside of her roll. Once informed, the server admitted to us that one of his people who runs to get the fish had black hair. He offered to take that particular roll off of our check, which I feel was the least he could have done. He then came back with the revised check, and proceeded to tell me that the hair in the food was in fact my hair. Makes perfect sense; a very short brown hair from my head must have fallen out, grown 3-4x in length, turned jet black, walked across the table and worked its way under the fish on my wife's sushi roll. Every time I tried to explain this to the server, he cut me off mid sentence. I could not believe how incredibly rude he was. He then asked if we wanted a box for the rest of the sushi, and I about fell out of the booth. NO THANKS. I will never set foot in this place again, and I would highly recommend that you avoid Kiku altogether.

DON'T EVER GO THERE!!! Horrible service by PETER (Manager?) who works there, he insulted my friend and I when we tried using a coupon and physically chased after us thinking we had not paid, when we actually had paid in full which is including the 18% gratuity he hand wrote on our receipt!!! The worst restaurant experience of my life! Absolutely horrible!!!!!
Giving it 1 star is being generous!! is there negative stars available?

We all came and got treated with friendly service and supriaingly fast service, after reading all these bad reviews. These people arent fair in judging kikus, see for yourself. I recommend the California roll. :)

Kiku has the besttttt fresh fruit smoothies everrrr. With 20 different blends and flavors to choose from and all under 5 dollars, I am a happy camper. I suggest to first try either the mango or the avocado! But of course the strawberry and the banana can’t go wrong. I always get coconut when it is warm out, and the papaya when I am feeling good.

With their Sake Bomb at Kiku. The 30 different options of them. The whole restaurant will be your audience and the waiters cheer along with you as you pound on the table like a frat boy- makes this old man feel 22 again. ;)

This business deserves six stars. They have 30 different sakes you can choose from. Flavored-unflavored, unflitered deliscious hot sake. Kiku has it all.
