Imported beer the company distributes includes Amstel Light, Heineken and Foster s Australian Lager. Freida G. Maisel founded Gulf Distributing Company in 1974. The company has expanded its operations in its current and original headquarters in Mobile, Ala., by acquiring family-owned and operated distributorships and consolidating these companies to form the current structure; two operating distribution units working as separate companies that distribute to the greater Mobile, Ala., market and the Florida Panhandle market.
