General Info: Modesto Masonic Lodge is under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of California. It has been said that Freemasonry is an organized society of men symbolically applying the principles of operative masonry and architecture to the science and art of character building. Its purpose is to improve the community through the improvement and strengthening of the character of the individual man. Simply stated, we are a fraternity of men dedicated to improving ourselves and the society in which we live. We endeavor to take a good man and make him better. We teach lessons in morality, which are divided into three degrees. They are the Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and Master Mason. Each degree builds on the moral lessons learned in the previous degree.
