Patrick was a National Ski Patroller at Appalachian and Sugar Mountain for almost 20 years. During this time, he held positions including Outdoor Emergency Care, Skiing Instructor and Supervisor. He always tries to share knowledge, and most importantly, help skiers and snowboarders that needed medical attention. This experience allowed him to become efficient with orthopedic assessment and transitioning him to treat clients with long term chronic problems.
Dr. Dominique has focused his post-graduate continuing education on pursuing a Diplomate in Chiropractic Orthopedics. Chiropractic Orthopedics is a specialized field of chiropractic medicine that provides non-operative alternatives to surgical orthopedic healthcare relative to the treatment of disorders of the human spine and extremities. Dr. Dominique completed his post doctoral examination in October of 2011 and is currently the Vice President of the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists. Being an avid golfer Dr. Dominique also pursued training through the renowned Titleist Performance Institute and currently is a TPI level 2 medical practitioner.
Along with safe and effective spinal adjustments, Dr. Houser also offers extremity adjustments, flexion/distraction technique, drop techniques, manual and instrument-assisted soft tissue therapies, myofascial release technique (ART), instrument assisted (Activator/impulse) adjusting, end-range loading (McKenzie) exercises, and kinesiology (KT) taping. His professional interests are in sports medicine, rehab, diet/nutrition, and lifestyle counseling. His personal interests are music, sports, and outdoor activities with his wife Tara, and his dog Samson.
Patrick has worked in conjunction with chiropractors, physical therapists and medical doctors. He has worked with conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, tension and migraine headaches, whiplash, back pain, neck pain, frozen shoulder, and sciatica. He furthers his education by attending continuing education seminars. A large portion of his continuing education has focused on Active Isolated Stretching because of the positive and fast results felt by his clients. He owned and operated his own massage practice and now he is excited to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to Alpine Chiropractic.
