I have been a patient of Dr. Jivan's for many years. His expertise and that of his assistant's has made the sometimes complex procedures I have needed done, very positive experiences. They are artistic and technically highly skilled. They fix a problem and are not satisfied until it's perfect. I have been to Aspen Dental and Dr. Caddell, and other's, they are not even close to the quality work in this practice.

Dental Examination
A thorough periodontal examination aids in diagnosing periodontal disease. A dental probe is used to measure pocketing around the tooth. Healthy pockets around teeth are typically less than 3 millimeters with no bleeding. Periodontal disease maybe occurring if there is an increase in pocketing, mobility, bleeding, and/or inflammation.
X-rays
By using a computer and an electronic sensor we are able to take digital x-rays, which are available to read immediately. Gone are the use of toxic chemicals used to develop films and the lengthy time needed to process them. These x-rays require up to 90% less radiation than traditional diagnostic dental x-rays. The image can be enhanced electronically to aid in diagnostic accuracy and speed.
Oral Cancer Screening
Dental exams are a critical part to properly evaluate oral health. This is accomplished by taking dental x-rays (to detect decay, tumors, bone loss, and cysts), examination of soft tissues (oral cancer screening, gum disease evaluation), and examination of hard tissues (existing fillings, tooth decay).

Teeth Cleaning
A professional dental cleaning in our office is performed by highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienists. Ultrasonic and hand instruments are utilized to comfortably remove accumulated deposits of plaque, tartar, and calculus. Teeth are then polished to smooth surfaces to slow plaque and tartar formation.
Fluoride Treatment
Dental Sealants
Tooth decay often starts in hard to clean deep grooves and depressions present on the tooth form. Sealants close these deep grooves and depressions preventing food and bacteria from trapping there.

Veneers
Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are custom fabricated in a dental laboratory. The veneers are fabricated on models taken of your natural teeth that have been lightly prepared. This treatment is an ideal way to modify color, size discrepancies, and alignment problems on healthy teeth.
Crowns
Crown lengthening is a surgical procedure used to expose a greater amount of tooth structure away from the gum. This procedure is necessary in situations where there is deep decay on a tooth and a biological improvement in contour and position of the gum is required. This procedure can also be used to reduce the appearance of a gummy smile, giving teeth a long, slender, and naturally proportionate appearance.
Bridges
A dental bridge is fixed (cemented) prosthesis that is used to replace the space created when there are missing or extracted teeth. The bridge is supported by connecting healthy teeth adjacent to the missing space to a custom made lab fabricated prosthesis. This prosthesis is cemented into position.

Root Canal Treatment
Crowns return normal form and function to teeth that have extensive breakdown, fractures, root canals, or decay. Crowns are custom made in a laboratory for each individual tooth. They are typically composed of ceramics.

Deep Cleaning
Depending on the type and severity of the disease, an appropriate course of therapy is indicated for periodontal disease. Early stages of disease can sometimes be reversed by routine cleaning and an improvement in home care. More advanced disease requires a more invasive approach requiring extensive cleaning below the gum line called scaling and root planing (deep cleaning). These cleaning appointments are longer and require specialized instruments to remove all debris underneath the gums.

Dentures
Advances in dental surgery and technology now allow us to do amazing things. We can replace a single tooth and even an entire mouth of missing teeth with implants. Telling someone that they’ll no longer need denture adhesive is one of the most gratifying experiences.
