Best service always on time and helpful

This is a horrible company. Their drivers are nice but the owner is terrible, and their dispatchers often won't help you. They claim to be from Yonkers with a base "on McLean Avenue" yet you can often call and they will flat out tell you they have no cars...on McLean Avenue!



Not only that, their pricing is awful. A ride to Queens over the Whitestone, they use EZPass and get the EZPass rate, yet pass on tolls at the (higher) cash price to you as a customer. They also have a minimum $45 charge to go to Queens. The way the owner explained it to me before he told me to "next time take the train or bus" before hanging up on a customer - wonderful quality assurance, by the way - was that if you got a pickup on the Bronx side of the Whitestone or Throgs Neck Bridge and asked for a drop on the Queens side, a 3 minute drive...the cost would be $45 plus two way tolls = $60.



He also originally tried to get the driver to charge me the higher $55 + $15 tolls rate, before "negotiating" down to $45. When I said final price $50 total to the driver, who was fine, the driver told me that any shortages in cash received vs. billed he had to eat, as the company was still going to get their money. So they stiff their drivers too. With people I know in the industry who do, or have driven cabs, I told him he should drive for a different company.



Their owner is pompous and lacks basic customer service skills, their dispatching is often scatterbrained, and their pricing is absurd and not at all upfront. Their decent drivers cannot overcome this. STAY AWAY!

This was the best service ever my niece and I were running late for work and we called Home & Away and they really lived up to there name! They're like the superman of car services! I would recommend them to everyone I know! (=]) Thank You! Home and Away you saved the day! Yet again!

This is a horrible car service. The address of the company is in Mount Vernon. But they claim to be in Yonkers since they are on the border. Depending on where you go, they change where they claim to dispatch from. Therefore they overcharge you. Sometimes double for the shortest trip. They even claimed that where they picked me up was Bronxville. But I live in Fleetwood which is part of Mount Vernon. Horrible. Will never use them again and I encourage others to do the same.
