Applegate Apartments

I moved into Applegate in short notice from fishers. Applegate's original property manager was really nice and worked with me on both leases I singed with them. That nice lady was then fired and replaced with the most unprofessional person I have had the pleasure of dealing with named Misty Hill. Upon Misty's hire I received a notice on my door stating I wasn't paying full rent amounts. This was after paying the same amount for nearly 6 months. I went into the office and questioned the notice. With the original manager I negotiated to have my water and trash lumped into my month rent. Misty stated that couldn't be the case, and they don't do that there. I then provided my original lease, which they had misplaced, and the mess was somewhat ironed out. Misty yelled and screamed at me during our first meeting. She didn't listen to a single word of mine, and she has no sense of customer service. Not to mention I had been living there already for 8-12 months and had never had as much as a late payment. since I had this trouble with Misty I was forced to go over her hear and deal w/ her direct boss.



As my stay was nearing its end at Applegate my hot water heater stopped working, my kitchen lights didn't work,and the parking lot was and is still full of huge pot holes. The apartments are full of bugs, and they have no pest control to spray like all the other apartments I have lived in. The only good thing I can say about this place now is the maintenance guy is a really nice guy.



Now for the finale. I moved out of Applegate in Aug of 2011. 3-4 months later I hadn't head anything about my deposit, so I called Applegate, and typically no one answered. Another day or two went by and I got a collection call saying I owed Applegate $87. I had never gotten any move out statement, or one call from applegate. I then called applegate and asked why this was. Misty stated some cleaning charges were basically the reason. I figured that was ok and they would just take it out of the $700 security deposit I had paid upon moving in. Misty then stated they had used my deposit through the year to pay of trash and water from my first lease. She provided me with a legder, and upon adding everything up, it showed I had overpaid on water and trash by over $237, which should leave my security deposit untouched. We basically got into another huge argument, and I reported this to the BBB. Now they are trying to say I never paid any security deposit when I moved in...so again I have sent them my original lease agreement which shows a security deposit was on file upon me moving into the apartment, and they are still trying to deny it. This is going to end up going to court because these people are dirty and will lie about anything to make a buck...especially Misty Hill....STAY AWAY FROM APPLEGATE



PS: I also had all my windows busted out while I lived there. No lighting, dangerous ghetto like atmosphere at night.
