The more you know about carpet cleaning the longer your carpets will last. On this page we share the different methods of cleaning your carpets.
Upholstery Cleaning
My name is Frank Davis and I’m the owner of Advantage Carpet Care. I am a trained/certified technician by the IICRC. The IICRC sets the standards for the entire industry. I’ve been in the cleaning and restoration business for 23 years. I started my career in 1994 working for Sears Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning in Sacramento, CA. After a few years, I returned home to West County and started Advantage Carpet Care in 1999 with one goal in mind, customer satisfaction. After being an employee and now an owner, I want my customers to experience the difference. Striving to give the Best Quality and Personalized Service and knowing that repeat customers will be the goal. I thank my long list of those repeat customers and I am looking forward to that same relationship with my future customers.

Tile and Grout Cleaning
Everyone loves the look of new tile and grout floors. However over time the new look you once loved starts to become dirty and faded. Even with regular cleaning dirt, grease and other substances accumulate in the tile and grout. The grout has microscopic pores that allow dirt and other substances to become imbedded below the surface, where it can’t be removed by mopping alone. Tile does require professional maintenance through a qualified tile and grout cleaning specialist. Hiring a contractor to clean your grout is the best step in lengthening the life of your floor and retaining its youthful appearance.
Vacuuming
The absorbent cleaner most commonly is organic, but may also be polymers. The compound is supposed to absorb the dislodged soil and is then vacuumed away. Carpet must be thoroughly vacuumed before and after cleaning. Very thorough vacuuming should be used to ensure that most of the carrier comes out of the carpet. With the extremely fine powder types, indoor air quality can be reduced. If a white powder starts appearing on shoes and cuffs of pants, too much was used and it was not thoroughly vacuumed up. A common problem is for this white powder to reappear after wet extraction cleaning.

Steam Cleaning
Sometimes, carbonated water is used to (in theory) give better soil suspension and bring down the pH. Companies using this method frequently use “scare†tactics to convince consumers that extraction cleaning or steam cleaning will destroy the carpet.
Leather Cleaning
Deep Cleaning
This is the only cleaning method classified as “deep cleaning†. All the others are considered “light surface cleaning†because they are incapable of removing soil deep in the pile. Also, all other methods leave large amounts of cleaning agent in the carpet after cleaning.
