Don't do business with Jimmy. He grossly overcharged us to move a small Grand Father clock. 4.2 miles 350 dollars. He did nothing else. Last time we moved it was 250 for a much greater distance. If you are going to do business with him Good Luck
I would like to respond to your letter regarding a recent Grandfather Clock move we did for your family. First, the move we did for you last year was at a discount rate that we honored based on the information given us. We were not informed that the clock to be moved was a Curio style. The $250.00 quote is for a Grandmother/Small Grandfather Clocks only. A Curio style Grandfather Clock is a higher quote which is ($450.00) due to different equipment needed to move the timepiece, as well as, the necessity for more than one person to move it out of the home without incident. Since you were a return client, we offered our services with a Loyal Customer Discount for a price of $350.00. Second, when your wife called to schedule the move this year, we asked if she needed a quote for the moving services. She replied, No. Also, she was called back, where a message was left by me. Last, I have attached photos/pricing for different types of clocks to show our moving quotes. We offer this pricing to all of our customers however, your wife elected not to get a quote at the time she made her appointment. P.s. In the future, if you find a lower moving cost through another Clock Repair business, please feel free to use them instead of us. Pricing (Move) only Grandmother/Sm. Grandfather: $250.00 Standard Grandfather: $350.00 Curio Style: $450.00 Antique/5-9 Tubes: $550.00 + up

What a Great place to go and a very very knowledgeable man Jimmy is about clocks. I highly recommend Jimmy for ANY Clock that you need to have serviced or repaired. I, myself, drove out 70 miles to have him work on and fix my modern standing wooden Clock that no one else could fix or work on. Thanks Again for a great repair job. An absolute life saver is he!

I have been very very happy with the work Jimmy has done for me for the past DECADE! I only have to service my grandfather clock every 2-3 years. Jimmy demonstrates excellent workmanship, and is dedicated to do a good job. His prices are fair, and he keeps his appointments as promised. I am grateful to have such a terrific artisan!

Jimmy repaired my 50 years old William G Talmage clock. several other grandfather clock dealers said they could not repair it. He did an excellent at a reasonable price.

Jimmy did an excellent job fixing my antique mantle clock! He also fixed my cuckoo clock and did so as he promised and reasonably priced! He is a true craftsman. I observed him and he quickly identifed the problem and resolved it. My mantle clock works better than when I had it originally. I hope the very best for Jimmy...he is a true clock repair man in every sense of the term!

The complicated mid-1800's French patinated marble double-dial, moonface perpedual calendar clock you fixed (when nobody else could) is still working extremely well and was worth the wait. I've been collecting clocks for 35 years now, and I know a quality clock repair with bushings, pivots, proper verge setting, etc. from an "oil-up cover-up and overcharge" which most shops sell to the uneducated.
Ditto for my platform escapement, four-dial "Lighthouse" style French/English clock from the late 1880's that you fxed. Keep up the good work. We need more skilled clock and watchmakers like you. - Dr. D.H.C.

Had I known the day I walked in what I know today. I would never want to disappoint anyone that bad! I took in two clocks with very simply repairs. Adjustment of chimes!! I believe I was more than patient, more than fair In the NINE MONTHS “Jimmy” had my clocks. In that time I called 3 times, 1st time “J” said almost done…2nd time was 4 months later, “J” said working on it?! 7th month called then went in to see status…”J” has done nothing! I collected one clock still untouched while he pointed to the other which was scattered in pieces. “J” said he’s working on it! I went in today NINE MONTHS now…to check the status of that clock…I sat thirty minutes and watched him put the pieces together so I could just get my clock and get as far away from “Jimmy's Alpine Clock Shop as I possibly could.
Dear funnygirl1960, We are happy you found our business, but disappointed you were not satisfied with our service. We have been in the repair business for over 40 years and at times an instrument as delicate as a clock cannot be put on an assembly line or rushed through to get it working properly. A clock mechanism is made up of many moving parts which all need to be looked at in order for the repair to be done properly. Again, we apologize for not meeting your deadlines. We wish you would give us another chance to take care of your precious timepieces or any of your timekeeping needs. Best - Jimmy
