Joses Landscape & Maintenance

We paid about $1600 for a few hundred square ft of sod to be installed as a front lawn. That was May 2014. The sod immediately became saturated from normal rainfall and remained saturated. We did not use the sprinklers. Soon the grass began turning brown. Eventually the sod became sparse. Now, Feb 2015, the lawn is about 50% gone and the soil has run off to the point the nylon webbing can be seen. Jose insists we should be seeding and fertilizing. but our neighbors have had sod installed with none of these problems. The saga is ongoing. I'm getting another opinion.

First of all, "Jose's Landscape and Maintenance Inc" is not incorporated. That's a deliberate misrepresentation. Secondly, the "REG" number "CCJOSESSLM909P2" is bogus, albeit clever ("CC Jose" ). The phone numbers no longer work. I'm not even sure this review will post; the Google review didn't. I'm certain Jose was never bonded, never insured, never licensed. "Jose" and the guys did good looking work. It was fine for a week. But beneath the finish was an absolute mess. The sod lawn we paid $2500 for in May of 2014, is gone in February 2015. It's gone. It washed away because the water, and I'm not talking about sprinkler water, I'm talking about fog, dew and average rainfall, could not drain into the soil. It stayed in the sod and destroyed it. Jose said it was the dogs peeing on the lawn, just my lawn mind you, no other lawns in the neighborhood.

I hired Jose's Landscape & Maintenance Inc. on June 22nd of 2013 and paid them $ 800 dollars by cheque in exchange Mr. Jose Gil Salazar presented as the owner offered to remove the moss which was already dead with chemicals applied by me and my wife, re-seed, kill weeds and in 2 months it will look same or better than my neighbor's yard. After 2 months and 20 days has passed by my yard is with 40 % of grass only and many holes on it.I had called them several time and they re-seed it once without success. I had called Jose yesterday and he came with some excuses like you are not putting enough water which is not true since we had expended $ 330.00 a month for the last 2 months and the soil is always wet more over the "holes" part of the yard without grass are all over the yard and like pockets. Also he tried to sell me more work on my yard which I rejected. Today finally he ironically answered the phone with a cynic attitude he responded that he is not going to finish the work.
