My name is Philip Powell. I am a photographer, son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a Retired Photoengraver from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. I became interested in photography after my brother returned home from the military during the Viet Nam War. He presented me with my first camera in 1969. It was a Yoshika 35mm with a fixed lens. After experimenting with this camera for many weeks, I was hooked! I dabbled in photography for a while after that.
