Established in 1957, YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities Network is a nonprofit, health and human services agency that provides education and training to people with developmental and learning disabilities. It operates an alumni club that offers a variety of recreational and cultural activities. The agency provides an after-school respite program for children between the ages of 7 and 13. YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities Network offers the Freedom Club, a socialization and recreation program for employed or employable individuals with developmental and learning disabilities. It provides clinical services that include speech therapy, nursing and pharmacology. In addition, the agency offers the Mac Plus, which is a one-week residential camping program for children between the ages of 7 and 13. YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities Network maintains a location in New York City.
