Ear Infections
Many situations are not emergencies, but do require immediate medical attention. These situations require what is referred to as “urgent care.” Examples of urgent care include ear infections, sprains, high fevers, vomiting and urinary tract infections. Members should consult their MILA CIGNA HealthCare network doctors for urgent care. If you are away from home, you may call the phone number on your ID card to speak to a nurse and to request the name of a CIGNA doctor near you.
Emergency Care
You can go to any emergency facility or hospital, anywhere, even one that is not in the MILA CIGNA HealthCare network. You should call or have someone call MILA CIGNA at the phone number on your ID card for further assistance and directions. If you are admitted to the hospital, you must call CIGNA within 48 hours to register and receive certification for continued stays. 2. Am I covered for emergency and urgent care away from home?

We are updating the way we pay claims for digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT), also called 3D mammography. Starting August 23, 2016, DBT will be a covered as a preventive benefit under most Cigna plans.

General Surgery
MILA will now cover services and supplies related to gender dysphoria including, but not limited to, medically necessary services and supplies for counseling, surgery, durable medical equipment and prescription drugs, in the same way as other medical or surgical services and supplies subject to the Plan’s general medical management requirements.
