Overall

I just had my dog there last week for 2 days and today he has been seen by the vet for a dry cough that she said was indeed Kennel Cough. After calling and speaking with the manager at Paws she told me that she was not obligated to pay for his vet visit, there was no way he got it from Paws, and that I should be lucky for her to offer paying half of his vet visit. My dog is a 7 year old poodle, who is only around dogs when i take him out, her even offering to pay half speaks volumes on Paws' guilt and the other reviews on this site don't help her case. Please reconsider when boarding your pet at this place, the staff were nice to me but the manager is a filthy lying leach and reeks of it. The whole "there is no way your pet caught it here at Paws" but in reading other reviews proves she'll lie about anything. Also she said "PAWS is the only pet boarding facility who has never had to be shut down for Kennel Cough." Just because your failing company cant afford to shut down doesn't mean to brag about it. What a piece of work, that's one wax figure that's been melted to the core of lies and it shows. FYI I FOUND THIS PAGE DOING A GOOGLE SEARCH FOR : PAWS CHELSEA KENNEL COUGH. Enough said!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! I to...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I took my dog to get boarded 3 weeks ago. I asked them to ID my sister who would be picking the dog up. Not only did they give her the dog no questions asked, the dog came out covered in feces. When my sister asked them why he was so dirty the guy responded with "oh, that's weird..." I called the following day and my message was never returned. I chalked it up to an isolated bad experience.

I decided to get my dog boarded there again for the thanksgiving break. Fool me once, shame on you- fool me twice, shame on me. I dropped the dog off to be boarded Wednesday to Saturday. I came to pick him up saturday evening and he was hanging out behind the front desk. I had gotten his hair cut there that day and they asked how I liked it, I said it was fine and then left. Once back at my apartment, a few blocks away- I noticed that he was acting out of sorts. I figured maybe he was tired. Within minutes he was coughing non-stop like he had kennel cough and was extremely warm. At one point I tried to get him to walk with me to get a drink of water and noticed he couldn't even walk properly. He was seriously limping.

To make a long story short, I took him to the AMC E.R. Immediately where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and a sprained shoulder. The vet bill was over $400 with all of the x-rays on his chest and shoulder and the 3+ medicines he now is on the cure his ailments. I am still waiting for paws in Chelsea to return my calls...
