Hands down, the best Greek food in the burbs. Get the saganoki cheese, you'll love it! Wait staff is generally good,

I have eaten at Mykonos since 1988 and it is, and will always be one of my favorite restaurants in the area. They have real authentic family chefs that use top notch imported ingredients like cheese, oil, and spices. They also use and cook with some of the best produce for their salads and side dishes all year long. Their bread is also one of the best around. My favorite are their baked lamb dishes or their combination plate in which you can never go wrong. You can often pick your own sides too which makes it very flexible. If you like Greek food and great service, I highly recommend it.

We've come to this restaurant dozens of times, intimate dinners and groups of 40. Food and service have been consistently excellent. They do not have a bad day. My husband is Greek and his family has used this restaurant for years. But it was our 1st time seating outdoors. Reminded me of a patio in a Greek island. They have blocked out outside noises and made this a beautiful place to dine. Today, we had lunch for 3. Shared everything, and it was amazing. The skordolia, hodiatiki Salata, and chicken kabobs were perfect. Priced right too!

Took a couple take outs. Good food, had the chicken kabob plate. The Greek potatoes are good. Rice is good. Chicken kabob was good. Could be more flavorful. But not bad. Id go back for more

If in the mood for a taste of Greece... This is the place! My favorite is the grilled octopus. Taramosalata and the lentils soup - only on Thursday thou- is really good. Coffee greek style was tasty and interesting. Worth trying it again. Their wine selection is also good.

All Greek restaurants even on Halsted pale in comparison to the quality and consistency of this place. If you're Greek and your grandma is still alive and living in Greece, when she visits bring her here, she'll want to abandon her home in Greece because she will empirically know this place is the real deal. When she is done licking the plate she will kiss you on the lips (crying) thanking you for giving her a reason to move here because of Mykonos Restaurant. The organic Greek chicken is a 1/2 chicken cooked ON the bone served OFF the bone. Greatest idea since sliced bread. (Ruined my desire to eat chix anywhere else, a dish that is normally bo-ri-ing) Baklava, saginaki, tiramusalata, any lamb dish, all amazing, and their giant Lima bean dish (Gigantes) should be illegal. Fish and all other "common Greek" dishes are absolutely insane. Best Greek restaurant in 30,000 miles.

Its great every time we go. I have yet to have bad service or bad food. The lamb is excellent and the combo plate is a great way to try things if don't know what you want. The outside garden is nice and these folks even park your car, wow!

I have been going here for close to 30 years and today I was thinking back on all the good times I have had here and all the people I have brought here. I also tried to think of a time when I was disappointed, and as picky as I can be and as easy as it can be to be inconsistent and could not think of once, they are fantastic!!

General Info
Established in 1981, Mykonos Greek Restaurant has grown to become a leader in traditional Greek Cuisine. Owner Dimitrios "Jimmy" Merageas was born in Sparta, Greece. Growing up and watching his grandmother and mother cook delicious authentic Greek food in their tiny little taverna, Jimmy was always eager to help. But, school was a priority and in 1972, Jimmy packed up his bags and moved to Chicago, Illinois, to get an American education. His first few years in the United States were rough. He went to school during the day and worked hard in various Greektown restaurants in the evenings to attain the American dream. At that point he realized that his passion was to explore, discover, and create the best Greek cuisine ever. He went back to Greece and with much perseverance he had the unique opportunity to assist and learn from some of the greatest chefs of Athens. He brought back all his newly acquired knowledge to the United States, and luckily a break came through. He stumbled upon a small, local ethnic restaurant in Niles, Illinois, and quickly became the head chef. After a short time later, the restaurant was up for sale. He jumped at the opportunity and bought the place. He immediately changed the name and tweaked the cuisine to make it more traditional. Mykonos Greek Restaurant first opened its doors in October 1981. Jimmy decided to call his restaurant Mykonos after the beautiful island of Mykonos in Greece, which was one of his favorite places to visit as a child. Through the years, the restaurant and the menu have expanded. In 1983, Jimmy had an ingenious idea of bringing the outdoor atmosphere of the Greek isles to the Chicagoland area. He designed and built one of the first outdoor eating areas in the state of Illinois. The concept stuck and people loved it! Jimmy worked harder and harder to make his restaurant gain a world-renowned status in Greek cuisine and in the Greek restaurant community. In 1987, Jimmy met the love of his life and decided to start a family. His wife, Athena, and all three of their children, Peter, Renee, and Madeline, are very enthusiastic about Mykonos. They have helped evolve recipes to include organic meats and vegetables and also to offer gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan foods without losing traditional flavors. After visiting Greece in 2010, Jimmy and his family brought yet another idea back to Niles, a retractable roof for the beautiful outdoor dining area. One of the first of its kind, the retractable roof is a huge success. Jimmy, his wife, and the rest of the Merageas family continue to work their hardest to maintain a cutting edge, yet, traditional atmosphere at Mykonos Greek Restaurant.
