Carlyle Gift & Flower Shop

I chose this shop, as an alternative to dealing with 1800flowers and FTD. Their website was nicely done and the woman on the phone was very pleasant while taking my order. The arrangement I chose was for my mother's birthday and was time sensitive as of her third shift work schedule.



My mother's birthday arrived and I called her in the late afternoon to wish her a happy birthday. She made no mention of any flowers. Intrigued I called the florist to confirm the delivery of the arrangement. It was now 4:30pm and the woman on the phone claiming to be the owner informed me that the arrangement was sent out for delivery at 3:00 and no one was home. She also mentioned a snow storm and that she would not be sending the flowers back out to "risk the life of her driver."



Not completely discounting this story, I called my mother back to inform her of the "surprise" that was now ruined. She had not left the house all day, and had woken up around 9am. Her husband had shoveled the drive around 2:30 until after the alleged time of delivery. There were no visitors, no tire tracks in the snow and no delivery of flowers.



So i assumed the problem must have been with the address in which to send the flowers. I called the florist yet again and confirmed the correct address on the delivery. The addresses were aligned. Obviously the flowers NEVER made an attempt to be delivered.



The owner's tone and attitude towards the situation was unapologetic. She was in complete denial that the delivery driver would have been dishonest in his attempt to deliver, and once again denied to get the flowers to their destination this day. Delivery was offered for the next business day, which completely negates the experience of receiving flowers on a celebratory day.



I would never recommend this florist to anyone wanting their loved one to receive them on their special occasions. The owner needs to get her head out of the sand, and learn a little about customer service and the possibility of employee dishonesty.

it has a very home town feel the service, decor, environment is excellent! prices are excellent too!!!!
