This is not "Garden Ridge". Its "At Home"

I just had my wallet stolen from my purse at Garden Ridge OKC. Yes, I should have had it on my shoulder instead of in my cart, but I had it covered up with over $500 in merchandise and had begun on my 2nd cart. My complaint is that when I checked out and discovered it was missing, the manager, Daniel, was called over and after a very long unconcerned delay, mosied on over and didn't give me the time of day. He also would not accept a check (I still had my checkbook), because they don't accept checks (even when my wallet was stolen in his store?). In fact, he barely looked up from counting the cash bag to express concern. He said there was nothing they could do - and he didn't disappoint. I asked if they had cameras, and he said yes, on the main aisles. I told him my cart was on a main aisle, but he said there were no cameras on that aisle (as if he really knew which aisle I was on - he just wanted to get rid of me so he could continue to count his cash). He said it was my fault, which I admit it was, but I had my eye on it and when iI told him him the only person I saw moving the cart out of my view was an employee, he did not offer to question the employee. I had to ask that he be called up and then politely questioned him myself in order to clear him from the police report I will file. Daniel, the manager on duty, did not ask me for my name, or my information in case the wallet should turn up. He simply didn't give a flip and obviously didn't have the time to spare. I got the feeling this was a common occurence at Garden Ridge - perhaps a daily thing to be treated so lightly. So my carts stayed there, while I returned home to begin cancelling credit and debit cards, and yes, someone had tried to use them. I don't shop at Garden Ridge often, and I was enjoying my time there today, but i will never set foot in that place again, and I won't be going back for my merchandise. My husband told me I got what I deserved for shopping there. It is a haven for thieves because they obviously know the management is not pro-active and doesn't care so BEWARE! Loved the selection of lampshades, candles, pillows, and outdoor furniture cushions, but their prices aren't much better than Lowes or Home Depot or Target, where the quality is better and you'll get friendlier customer service and security. Daniel needs to be replaced with a skilled manager who has the necessary cares about the company he works for as well as its customers, , as its just another job to him.

Overpriced garbage that they wont let you return! We tried to return a small item bc it didnt fit in our bathroom. They refused to take it back. This is the second time this has happened. Both times we returned the items with receipts in hand and in perfect condition. Would not recommend shopping here.

Had signs all over for a 50% off sale on items with a red line through the ticket price. There were very few items to be found with a red line. When the clerk rang up the one item in my basket with a red line, he claimed it "wasn't their red line", so it wasn't half off.

I live 150 miles from the OKC business and needing to inquire about availablity of a certain product. No one will talk to me over the phone. It is foolish for me to drive 150 miles not knowing if product is available. Having a person answering a phone instead of a machine would make it feel like Garden Ridge does care about it's customers. Remember, Hobby Lobby is right across the interstate with a good inventory.
