"Blowing up" America since 1988!

General Info
in 1987 Jim Desrosiers traveled to Central America to provide medical care to the indigenous people of Costa Rica and Honduras. He was unsettled by all the crying, tired, fidgety children waiting to see the doctor, so he decided to do something about it. Jim was an amateur magician and entertained the children with his skill and dexterity however, when you have two-hundred children waiting to see the doctor, it doesn't take long to run out of tricks to perform. Balloon sculpting was more of a fill-in part of Jim's routine at the time as all he could make was a dog and a bunny. It didn't matter to the children, they all wanted a balloon no matter what it looked like. Soon Jim had learned to make a koala, poodle, parrot and monkey. With no more than a dozen figures memorized, a couple bags of balloons and a hand pump, Jim would entertain the children as they waited in line. Back in the states, the doctors would hire Jim to perform his skill for their children's birthdays. It was the start of what is now Twisting Fun! Twisting Fun! is still a one man operation and Jim still continues to entertain children of all ages in homes and at county fairs but Twisting Fun! has grown to become so much more! Twisting Fun! now educates the masses as well! Lesson plans have been developed to cover most areas of education and programs feature interactive classes that put the science, history and art right in the hands of students, making it a more memorable experience. From history to hysteresis, Jim covers it all! Classes can be modified to just about any size classroom. If you want to learn balloon sculpting, Jim will tutor you individually or bring his Balloon School to you! Balloon School was originally intended to be an adult education program but has evolved to eight three hour sessions designed to introduce people to the art, craft and skill of balloon sculpting. You will learn everything from inflating your first balloon and "tying the knot" to all the major twists and techniques that are used in balloon sculpting. Twisting Fun! also provides finished balloon sculpture as temporary installations for shopping malls, the office lobby, florist shops and various public spaces. Jim will collaborate with other balloon sculptors if necessary to create just about anything no matter how big your idea is! Let twisting Fun! put some color in your life!
