Dental Examination
After performing a dental examination, a written estimate will be prepared for you outlining the cost of the treatment. At your request, a predetermination can be sent to your insurance company to find out a better indication as to how much of the dental treatment your insurance will cover.
X-rays
First, we’ll carefully examine the wisdom tooth and the surrounding area, then we’ll take dental x-rays for additional details. Once we’ve evaluated the position and condition of the tooth, we’ll begin the wisdom teeth extraction. This is an extremely common and safe procedure, usually performed under local or general anesthesia, which you can learn more about on our sedation dentistry page.

Crowns

Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
Although root canal procedures are minimally invasive, a root canal is still a surgical dental procedure, and it is not uncommon for patients to experience some discomfort afterward. You may experience a dull ache in the treated tooth immediately after a root canal, which typically goes away after a few hours to a couple days.

Deep Cleaning

Dentures

Dental Implants
In general, for dental patients with prosthetic joint implants, prophylactic antibiotics are NOT recommended prior to dental procedures to prevent prosthetic joint infection.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Avoid physical exertion and rinsing your mouth as much as possible for 24 hours after oral surgery or a tooth extraction, as this tends to prolong bleeding. Slight bleeding in the mouth for the first 24 hours is normal and can be ignored (since blood is mixing with saliva, it looks as if there is more blood than there actually is). If bleeding in the mouth is excessive, place a folded gauze pad over the area and bite gently upon it for 30 or more minutes.
Tooth Extractions
Sometimes, your wisdom teeth need to come out via a professional wisdom teeth extraction at your local dental clinic. Also known as “third molars,” your wisdom teeth are generally the last four of your 32 teeth to surface. Their nickname comes from the fact that they surface between the ages of 17 and 25, a time of allegedly increased wisdom.
