X-rays

WEARING YOUR PROSTHESIS (FLIPPER, PARTIAL DENTURES, OR FULL DENTURES) Each mouth is different and your surgeon will give you specific instructions. If You are wearing your prosthesis postoperatively, your surgeon has made initial adjustments. Leave the prosthesis in your mouth for 12-24 hours. Expect some oozing of blood around the sides of your prosthesis. When you brush your teeth remove the prosthesis, clean it, and then place the prosthesis back into your mouth. Sore spots may develop. You may call your dentist or call our office to make the necessary adjustments to relieve those areas. For some patients, the denture will not be worn for a period of time or your surgeon may want you to wear it for aesthetic purposes only (not for eating). We will inform those patients prior to surgery.

Dr. J. Gregory Sabol was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. He attended The Ohio State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and received both his Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) degree. During dental school, Dr. Sabol used his degree in Molecular Genetics to be involved with skeletal jaw and facial development research. Upon completing dental school, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Once he finished his General Practice Residency, he moved to Nashville, TN to attend Vanderbilt University Medical School for six more years of further training. Dr. Sabol received a year internship in General Surgery, specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as his Medical Degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School.

Orthognathic surgery may be an ideal treatment solution for teenagers or adults who have developed a severe underbite, or what’s known as a “class 3 malocclusion.” Some cases of underbite are more attributable to the positioning of the teeth rather than the jaw; therefore, an orthodontic treatment such as braces may be all that’s necessary to provide effective correction.
