Operational since 1955, the Clinton County Health Department offers a variety of health services and programs to residents. It prevents epidemics, injuries and the spread of diseases, as well as protects against environmental hazards. The department also responds to disasters and provides recovery assistance for communities. The Clinton County Health Department offers developmental services for children up to the age of three. The department has an environmental service unit that conducts safety inspections in local restaurants, schools, fairs, public swimming pools and beaches. It also provides health education services for adults and youths. In addition, the Clinton County Health Department offers vaccinations and respiratory, physical, occupational and speech therapies. The department provides food and nutrition counseling for pregnant women.
