Beware! Don't buy a Empire house. We had a lien placed on our home because Empire didn't pay the subcontractor. We would have gone into foreclosure had not the subcontractor released the lien because they had sympathy on us. Empire did absolutely nothing to help us except make excuses and drag their feet, even though it was their fault for not paying their subcontractor. And we are talking not just our home, but three properties they didn't pay on (about $60,000 worth). Who does that? They were terrible at communicating with us except when they needed something from us.



Their project manager missed many things during the build, like a wall that was not straight, another wall that was bowed badly, windows in the wrong place, a missing door, and the attic access wasn't framed in two weeks before we were to close on the house.



They do not pay attention to detail and cut corners whenever possible.



The good: nice tile bath, lots of windows, large master bedroom.
