- Oregon Health Care Association is a private not-for-profit trade association representing more than 620 nursing homes, assisted living, residential care, senior housing facilities, in-home care agencies and long term care corporate offices, along with close to 200 nationwide business partner members. Members include, not-for-profit, proprietary, privately owned, multi-facility and professional partners. OHCA is the largest long-term care trade association in Oregon representing a diverse, well-rounded membership base, including more not-for-profit members and proprietary members than any other association in the state. Technical Assistance ' OHCA has 2 attorneys on staff to help answer questions on regulations and provide ongoing resources/information on hot topic issues. OHCA also provides a wealth of information through regular communications and publications to help keep members informed on the latest hot topic issues affecting the profession Advocacy ' OHCA has lobbyists on staff who work with legislators and political leaders on behalf of senior care issues in Oregon Professional Development ' OHCA is committed to professional development and promises the most beneficial, timely and topical education available in Oregon. All education has been approved for Continuing Education Units ( CEUs ) Networking - OHCA plans events and meetings to allow members to learn and share ideas with their peers Oregon Health Care Association's mission: promoting high quality long term care services, effective advocacy, and professional development opportunities, is designed to enhance health care, housing, and supportive social services provided by our members. Our goal is to help our members succeed by assisting them to meet the care needs of long term care consumers and their families. It is estimated that by the 2020, America's population of those aged 85 and older will double to over 7 million people. By the year 2050, this number is projected to grow to between 19 and 27 million people. Planning for long term care is essential to meeting this growing need. OHCA member facilities provide services to over 40, 000 Oregonians each day. In addition, our members provide employment opportunities for approximately 30, 000 Oregonians. Many facilities provide specialized services and programs including: Alzheimer's or dementia-related conditions, programs for pediatric patients, and victims of serious head injuries or trauma. Our members seek to maximize their residents choice, dignity and independence. The information and facility directory on the following pages is designed to provide useful information for consumers to assist in planning for and arranging long term care services for themselves and their families.
