Aardvark Child Care (primos) is one of the worst child care places I’ve seen in awhile...!!
Let's start from the beginning...a girlfriend of mines works there and couldn’t believe all the things she was witness to, after telling me about it for so long I just had to see for myself, so I set up a tour.
I went in and meant with a young women by the name of Laura who I heard sooo many wonderful things about (sarcasm) right from the beginning I could tell everything I was told was coming true. First of all she must have been dealing with some issue because she kept me waiting for over 20mins. But that’s ok it just gave me sometime to look around. Starting with the babies’ room, there were about 8 babies and only 2 teachers one looked as young as a high school student, who you could tell had no idea what she was doing let alone qualified to do. As I peeked in to the lunch room there was a mouse sitting by one of the tables. At this time I just wanted to walk out in disgust. But then overly friendly Laura arrived...and our tour began
* The babies’ room is so dirty and from the looks the rug which is as thin as paper has never been cleaned (hope your growing baby doesn’t fall on that might end up with permanent damage
She says they do ages and stages and progress reports but after showing an example one to me that dated all the back to June I knew that was a lie as well
* Then there was the kitchen where she told me about all the wonderful meals that i witnessed being cooked in a toaster over!!!!! When I told her about the mouse i seen she gracefully told me yes there working on that...and I could tell by the traps i seen all around the kitchen
* then we moved on to the toddler room where there were about 14 kids and two teachers who seemed more concerned with talking to each other than the 4 crying kids...and i tell you out of 14 kids 13 noses were dirty !!!!
Upstairs was no better....way too many kids not enough staff
To sum it all up..Everything this lady says is a lie to get you to enroll your child when really she is rude and doest really care i listened to her tell me that my friend is enrolled in a local college for early childhood when really my friend doesn’t even go to college, but I’m told that’s what they do with over half there staff. Please, please don’t just believe what she says if you don’t believe me ask for proof...they have a very high turn over rate and the owner inst any better I was told she is just as rude and doesn’t give to pots what’s goes on as long as she gets her money ...all those pics on the website are all I repeat all from the other center!!!!! So lastly my advice check everything out at this place it’s a fraud!!! No bitter feelings for me my kids don’t attend because I had a friend who cared enough to give me a heads up !!!

Unfortunately this response was written by a disgruntled employee. TD was not a productive member of our team and her coworkers no longer wanted to work with her or her negative attitude. Our reputation speaks for itself and being that we are 100% compliant with all regulations and a Keystone Star 4 quality program we deny all claims made in this review.

I used to take my child here, however I removed him not too long ago. Some of my complaints: There's constant turnover from both staff and parents. They recently raised the tuition. I understand that business costs rise, however I need to see improvements along with the hikes in tuition. They're constantly shuffling teachers for the classes. This is due to the high staff turnover. Their menu is lacking. Breakfast everyday consists of dry cereal and a carton of milk. No variety. I frequently had to deal with missing clothing items (or clothing items that didn't belong to my child) and the teachers never had an answer. The owner, Joanne comes off as money-hungry. She never bothers herself to say hello to parents when she is in the office. She's only there to collect the money and could care less about the parents (her customers). I believe she's one of the main reasons why alot of the staff quit. She just appears to be an unpleasant woman.

My child is currently attending Aardvark and I can honestly say it is not bad at all. Before Aardvark, my son attended another childcare facility. We had to change schools because of a new job opportunity. We had high expectations because of what we experienced at the previous school. My child is in one of the preschool classes at Aardvark. They work on letters, have centers and every Friday, they have "show and share," which allows the children to bring in an item based on the letters they are working on for that week.

Laura, who is the director there, is very nice and open to any questions you have. She recently received her Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, which displays her desire to continue increasing her knowledge in her field. The one review attacking her is interesting. I read it before visiting and realized it was completely inaccurate.

One of the few changes I would like to see implemented is a daily checklist or summary of what the children learned and worked on each day. The teachers write a summary of the week in your child's journal, which you provide, every Friday, but a more comprehensive daily checklist of some sort would be much more ideal for high expectant parents like us. There are parent focus group meetings each month or so that provide parents with the opportunity to share ideas. Not many places do this. I should mention I'm not particularly fond with one of my child's teachers. Whenever we ask about our child's experience that day, it seems like she can never provide any detail. She always refers us to the other teacher. If my child is in your class for about 8-9 hours each day, it should be expected that you can provide parents with more information. The other teacher, Ms. Jeanna, is an asset to the class. She seems to be really in tune with the kids from what I see.

Because of the short period in which my son has been at Aardvark, I can't rate it four stars just yet. I also can't give it five stars because that would mean it is perfect and no childcare center is perfect.

Please be aware that if your kid has never been to a day care then this is not the right place. They are extremely 'robotical' in caring about child. Every hr or so diaper change, attempt to feed a child every hr or so, play time, nap time. This looks really good when you are dealing with animals or non-living objects. When it comes to babies or toddlers, they cannot be treated like animals. Aardvark has completely ignored the fact that they are dealing with human beings.

Left my 10 months baby with them and paid in advance. It was the first time for the baby and on the very first day when we requested the person in charge to pick up the baby to make a connection she responded by saying I have other babies to take care of. Baby was left hungry every day for 3 weeks and on every day when we called they simply responded they 'tried' but baby is refusing. Baby lost around 10% weight and was extremely anxious. Having said that, the primary person (director) is extremely professional and picked up our baby which did help our baby. She is very good with kids but unfortunately she is not the one who will care for the baby every day.

I had made a request to inform us if baby is hungry for more than 6 hours. One day at around 3 pm, I called and asked about the baby. This time the person who actually took care of the baby attended our called. She rudely said, I tried and baby is not eating or drinking anything. I asked does that mean baby is hungry since morning, she said I cannot help. This was a trigger for us. We left our respective offices and rushed to pick up our baby. We immediately visited few day cares and finally settled with one home day care. In 4 weeks, baby was again in top 90% percentile of his weight and never refused food. All what was required was a humane touch and someone actually picking up the baby when he was upset.

The fun starts now. I called the day care, wrote to them for refund. Even in shopping malls, when you buy a shirt, you can return it in 30 days and get a full refund. I am sure workers at this day care are also availing this refund policy. I requested the person in charge to refund money for the time, baby stopped going to the day care. She was extremely nice before that but after this refund phone call she was rude, blunt and basically told us to whatever we want. I wrote official letters and talked to my lawyer to pursue a legal action. However, we decided it is not worth our time or money (some 200 USD). She never issued a receipt for the money (company policy it seems). She hid behind the fact that we have signed a contract. She also told me that if I write a review she can delete it too. This could be possible on their website but not on Yelp, I hope. At the same time it is suspicious that there are no reviews on them on Yelp. Did some one delete them?

So bottom line is, this could be an excellent place if your kid is independent. I will still be cautious as they are into money making business and also make sure that you read their policy and fine prints. If everything goes well your kid might end up becoming the brightest child but if something is amiss they will stand against you and your kid and also hide behind their company policy.

I have successfully prevented dozens of friends and families from going to Aardvark. You can also search online for legal case against them when they were extremely 'robotical 'with other kid.

I hope one day they will refund my money.

The best preschool in Delaware...

The best preschool in Delaware county. I've recommended this to all of my family and mom friends. They follow all of the states laws (I know because I do my research before I trust anyone with my children) and actually follow a curriculum like any school district would. My 4 year old came home the other day speaking a little Spanish and telling me about las posadas (celebrated in Mexico). This is above and beyond the ABC's and counting that I've seen anywhere else. Clean, friendly, and a wonderful environment for my kids

This is the best child care center in Delaware County. I have checked them all out and this one is by far the best. The entire staff is professional and educated. My child absolutely loves her teachers and she has learned so much.
