Ace Dry Cleaner

I dropped off a lined suit to have the jacket sleeves shortened and the pants hemmed. The pants had a regular seam with the fabric folding to the inside and the alteration turned out fine. However, the jacket sleeves had a modern style seam that met at the edge and had a slit in the back.

I previously had the same style jacket sleeves hemmed at this business and it turned out fine.

This time, while the left jacket sleeve looks and works fine, the right jacket sleeve bunches and folds up when I put on the jacket. When I straighten out the sleeve the seam shows on the outside versus having it meet at the edge.

I took the jacket back, showed them the problem and asked them to please fix it. The first time I returned, it seemed like nothing had been done to it and when I refused to accept the jacket I got several excuses on how hard it is to sew this type of sleeve. I left the jacket again, this time with the understanding that they would actually re-sew it.

However when I returned again, the sleeve only looked slightly better and I was told that the seamstress had pressed it wrong. Since the seam was still showing on the outside and the lining bunched strangely when putting on the jacket I asked them to actually please re-sew it.

When I came back the sleeve looked better but now the seam area had a shiny iron stain on it which I was told would fade after a couple of dry cleanings. The jacket also smelled intensely like perfume.

Unfortunately I did not try on the jacket in the store and found out later that the lining still bunches when putting on the jacket and pulls up the right sleeve. After straighten out the lining and sleeve, the sleeve seam shows again on the outside versus meeting on the edge like it should.

Since the suit has pin stripes, I cannot just wear the pants with another jacket and therefore now lost a brand new suit.

Also, I do not appreciate having been given the run around like this. In my opinion, making a mistake is one thing but not fixing a mistake is another. If the business was unable to fix it, they should have at least offered me a refund for the cost of the alteration or offered to replace the suit.

I would not recommend this business.
