Animal Hospital of South Bay - Rolling Hills

I used to LOVE this place before it sold. Dr Streeter was an awesome vet & kept his prices low.



Sadly, these days it's just another cookie cutter vet. Yeah, their care is OK but it is very expensive. I hate to think of all the animals suffering because their owners cannot afford vet care. Hey, I can afford it, but even I hesitate to take an animal in for a minor issue.



EXAMPLE: my 8 YO cat had a UTI, I knew he did, he had all the classic signs. I happened to have Clavomox in stock and started him on it for 2 days. But I did worry he might have crystals, so I took him in. It cost me $200 (the "low end") and guess what he was prescribed ? Clavomox. Geez! That same unlucky kitty a few months before got out and had a pretty good puncture wound on his ear from a raccoo. I cleaned it with alcohol, put some OTC antibiotic cream on it and then rummaged in my cabinet for some old antibiotics one of my foster dogs was prescribed.



Kitty was good as new within a week! Saved me I'm sure a few hundred bucks. Why oh why can't we be like other states and be allowed to purchase antibiotics for our pets? So many folks just cannot afford pet care these days, it's shameful
