        A-1 Custom Muffler & Brake has been serving the Springfield area for more than 30 years. We specialize in undercar repairs such as the exhaust system, brake system, and all general automotive repairs. A-1 Custom is an ASE Certified establishment with accredited technicians having numerous years of experience. We offer same-day service and most repairs can be performed while you wait. We provide free inspections for exhaust and brake work with a detailed estimate of repairs before any work is performed. A-1 Custom has two locations to serve their customers. We have a South Side Location in Springfield at 1821 S.         A-1 has worked on my son's truck several times and each time they were friendly, courteous, and very helpful, explaining what needed to be repaired and what could wait and finding the best prices in order to help us save. The repairs were done in a timely manner. This staff is great. I will continue to use them for all my repair needs.

        Everyone was great! They explained everything to me and when my husband called they explained + answered everything he was concerned about. Polite and helpful . I'd recommend the Shop in Republic to all my family & friends . Thank You Guys .

        Great mechanics. The receptionist was very kind and joked with me to cheer me up. The mechanic that worked on my car came and explained everything that was going on with my car and told me the price of everything ( breaking it down). I freaked out a little because it was so much and they went through everything and tried to get the price down. I did not feel like I was getting run over just because I was a girl. They were honest about what was going on with my car. Will be coming back

        Great mechanics and receptioni...

        Great mechanics and receptionist was very helpful! The Mechanics explained what was wrong with my car and my options, then explained how to make sure this dosent happen again so soon( change ur oil on time:) I really appreachiate the time they took and the price was fair, work was great and all around great experience! I will contine to go back for all my car problems!

        Best place around!!

        Don't let the name fo you. Best place around to get work done on everything!! These guys are always been honest and forth right. I know when they say work needs to be done, it truly needs to be done not just because they want more money. I would NOT trust my car with anyone else!

        GREAT PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CARE FOR HONEST INSPECTION AND WORK. I WOULDN'T TAKE IT ANYWHERE ELSE. VERY NICE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH. JUST A GREAT PLACE TO DO BUSINESS.

        rude receptionist

        I went to the republic location for something simple. The guys there were great and very nice. The older receptionist lady i think her name started with a d was very rude when i went in. I will not be returning if this woman is still there. That is not what i call customer service.

        As General Manager of the company I am very sorry to hear that any customer is treated rudely by a member of our staff. As a responsible manager it is not reasonable for me to fire an individual over one anonymous complaint from a review website. However I would value the opportunity to speak about the specifics of the rude behavior and counsel our employeeabout the incident. This allows the person an opportunity to do a better job in the future, retain their job and to grow in their customer service skills. I hope that you reconsider your intention of not returning because you had one bad experience with one member of our team.

        Went there for an inspection. Received prompt service and tehy got me taken care of quickly. They also told me about coupons and how to get them, and about future maintenance needs for my vehicle. The service was friendly and fast.

        I have used them a few times n...

        I have used them a few times now and always get in the same day I need to. When told about a problem with the car, they talk to me in layman terms, so I understand, yet don't talk down to me. They do not try to do un necessary work and explain options when faced with a big job. The staff are all very friendly also.
