A holter monitor is a smal, wearable device that tracks the rhythm of your heart. Often worn over a continuous 24-hour or more time frame. During an instance where your doctor may not capture enough information from a traditional electrocardiogram (ECG), a patient may be directed to wear a holter monitor.

Labor and Delivery
You have a low-risk pregnancy and want your childbirth to be as natural as possible, using as many “non-interventions” as possible. You would prefer to do without things such as an epidural, fetal monitoring, and labor induction, if possible – but knowing those are an option.
Gastroscopy – procedure where a thin, flexible tube called an endoscope is used to look inside the esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine. Commonly referred to as an “upper endoscopy”.

Lung Cancer
Studies don’t show that routine screening for lung cancer is right for most people. But it may help those who have the highest risk for lung cancer-people 55 and older who are or were heavy smokers.
Reflecting on community progress showed a notable increase in the variety of programs and community responses in all three areas. By prioritizing, groups could focus their energies on addressing different aspects of their concerns and improve outcomes. The conclusion? The best way to make progress in Richland County is to continue to wholeheartedly support community coalitions in their work on Mental Health Treatment, Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment, and Obesity Prevention & Treatment. By doing so, a better future for the Richland community will be assured.
Psychiatry
Insomnia
Behavioral Health
Senior Life Solutions is a program dedicated to addressing the emotional and behavioral health of adults typically over the age of 65. Our team will go above and beyond to provide you with the best care possible.
The Richland Hospital Diabetes Self-Management Education Team is dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by diabetes, or at risk for diabetes, by promoting self-management and empowerment. Nearly all diabetes care is self-care, so it’s important to learn how to manage your diabetes to live a healthy life.
Our midwife works closely with her collaborative physician team. Many patients may not need to see a doctor throughout the pregnancy, unless the patient chooses to use a doctor for their twenty-week ultrasound, the provider is on vacation, or the patient develops complications.
MRI
Richland Hospital is offering a new service to patients—MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) technology. Though most patients realize that getting an MRI assists doctors in making a more accurate diagnosis without surgery or radiation, some may hesitate to have one due to personal concerns. Understandably, they may wonder: Will I get claustrophobic while in the machine’s tunnel? Will I be able to lie perfectly still? Will I be uncomfortable during the procedure? No worries. The Signa Voyager MR is one of the most advanced machines available and is all about maximizing patient comfort. It has the largest bore opening on the market (70 cm; 27.5 inches), direct communication with the technologist is made possible by means of a hand-held alert bulb and intercom system, the patient can opt to listen to relaxing music during the procedure, and the Breathe-free and Motionfree applications eliminate the need for breath holds and lying still during the exam. Along with selecting lighting and music to fit their mood, patients can even personalize their experience by selecting murals and skylights—a room with a view—to enhance their experience. And, the best part? This system delivers uncompromising imaging capability to assist their doctor to make a more accurate diagnosis of their condition.
Radiology
The PricePoint web site allows healthcare consumers to receive basic, facility-specific information about healthcare services and charges. Consumers can query information for Inpatient services, Outpatient Surgeries, Emergency Department and Urgent Care visits, Observation services, and ancillary services like radiology and therapies.
X-Rays
Nuclear Medicine
Mammography
Richland Hospital has a new 3D Mammography machine! The Pristina Dueta™ was designed with the objective of putting patients at ease—without the squeeze. Most women* are aware that early detection of cancer can reduce deaths; yet, due to anxiety, 1 in 4 will delay or simply not schedule their regular mammogram. Of those surveyed who experienced the Pristina Dueta™, 93% said having access to the patient-assist compression remote made them less anxious.
Computed Tomography
Lung cancer screening is done with a low-dose CT scan. A CT scan uses X-rays, or radiation, to make detailed pictures of your body. Experts recommend that screening be done in medical centers that focus on finding and treating lung cancer.
Chemotherapy
The Richland Hospital’s Kraemer Center offers chemotherapy care and specialty infusion services close to home. Our team works collaboratively with your specialist to develop a personalized care plan for treatment. The greater community benefits from the generous donations of the family and friends of Douglas M. Kraemer – for whom this facility is named and in whose honor we continue to serve.

Arthroscopy
Wound Care
At The Richland Hospital, Inc., we understand there are times when a patient no longer needs the acute care they first received in the hospital – yet they may not feel strong enough to return home. For those patients, we offer our Swing Bed Program. After surgery and hospitalization, patients often transfer from the hospital into a nursing or rehab facility to help improve their physical functioning. We can “swing” you from post-operative and acute care into skilled-nursing, including physical rehabilitation and monitoring of your improvement. Even if your stay was at another hospital, you can transfer following discharge to receive Swing Bed Care here at The Richland Hospital, near your family. Our Swing Bed Program is a federally-approved program that allows small hospitals, like ours, to use regular patient rooms to provide this special care. Due to our commitment to meeting the needs of all our patients, space and bed limitations will affect the number and type of Swing Beds available at any given time. Examples of skilled care may include: IV Therapy, Skin and Wound Care, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, or Pain Management.

Knee Replacement
Richland Hospital Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Thomas Beck, performs partial knee replacements using the Oxford™ Uni-compartmental Knee System. “Sometimes arthritis affects one side of the knee and not the other,” Dr. Beck said. “Using the Oxford Knee, I can save the healthy knee structures and encourage normal knee motion and function. This procedure is less invasive, removing 75% less bone than a Total Knee Replacement, making for a more rapid recovery.”
Dr. Beck directs the Richland Sports Medicine Program. His abilities make it possible for local athletes to stay close to home for orthopedic procedures. As a result, the athlete’s recuperation and rehabilitation may be expedited. Dr. Beck’s experience in working with sports acceleration programs and high intensity training has led to the availability of new services within the program.
Physical Therapy
Planning for your discharge may begin upon admission to the Hospital to ensure continuity of care. The combined knowledge of nursing, social services, physical therapy, occupational therapy and dietary personnel is available to help patients and their families identify post-Hospital health and wellness needs. You, your physician, or your family may request discharge planning services by contacting the Hospital’s Discharge Planning Department or your nurse.
