Redding Veterinary Hospital

Redding Vets has a good rep., but today's experience should have been more professional. I arrived promptly at 2:00 to have my cat Euthanized. I appreciated going directly into the examination room. A man arrived at the same time without a pet, and I assume without an appointment. Dr. Boulton & he spoke loudly outside the examining room for 15 minutes, then the man left. The voice level was unnerving. When the Dr. finally came in, the procedure began. After the injection, I commented that Fluffy was still breathing. Dr. Boulton then gave more of what I thought was the same injection because of his comment, "Here is some more". After death, he explained there were 2 shots, the first being Valium to relax my cat. I wish the procedure was explained to me beforehand. I would have continued to talk to Fluffy. Afterwards, Dr. Boulton began telling me about Maine, animal hoarding, his wife testifying about animal abuse, etc., nothing having to do with my cat. I just wanted to leave.

I never write reviews for anything, but this time was different. We got our first pet ever and as any new middle aged parent, wanted the best for our kitty! Dr. Bolton was the answer to our prayers. He was the gentlest person who talked to us with infinite patience and answered all our questions, silly and sensible, both :)

Our cat loved him as well and was very relaxed in his presence. He gave him his booster and Kitty didn't even flinch, his hand was so smooth. If I could, I would actually switch Dr. Bolton for my own physician!

Redding Vet is the most amazing place! Dr. Bolton is the most talented, caring and accessible Veterinarian we have ever experienced. Dr. Lauren S. and the entire staff are terrific! They have cared for our array of dogs, cats, and rabbits with professionalism and kind attention. We have seen Dr. Bolton go way beyond the expected to save a beloved pet. He cares. Thank you for all you do!

Seriously. This has got to be the most involved, caring and dedicated veterinary clinic we have ever used. We have used them for almost a year- We have two cats and three dogs. We've used them for boarding as well and the staff knows my dogs and my dogs are actually and strangely excited to go! They have also bent over backwards to get my dogs in during a family emergency ; we are very thankful for this kindness they showed us. One of the boarding staff members that I met after had a picture on her phone of one of my dogs while they were in boarding

"-you're sparky and petie's mom!"

We also recently got a new pug puppy and the staff has really shown us their true dedication. Dr. Bolton has personally answered the phone at the office at 7:30 at night- he knows who I am and what is going on with my dog- he tells me what to do over the phone - and follows up!! He told me they can't be there and let the phone ring. Well, I think that's pretty remarkable. The next day, as always, I got a call to follow up. I also called this evening after hours. Someone picked up the phone as the machine went on and I said my that my puppy was having a problem. Dr Bolton immediately got on the phone- told me why to do- Made sure she was ok- said he would call me back in half an hour and stay late to see my puppy ( and I knew he was sincere) turns out it was a passing thing. But I know I'll get a call from them tomorrow...."how's Eloise doing?"

They are simply the best!... I feel I really have a partnership with them and that they truly care about the well being of my pets. We have had many animals over the years and lived in many places and have therefore had many vets. I would say Dr. Bolton and his staff- hands down- no contest -wins as the absolute best and most dedicated. Kudos to you for a job well done!

The vets at Redding Vet. Hospital go above and beyond the call of duty! They are caring and compassionate and extremely well versed in many types of animals. The loving staff and vet techs are to be complimented as well!
