Moons Transmission

Pros: Clean shop, quick service

Cons: No Moon anymore! Sub-par Service. Assess prices higher than dealers. Check around first because I was disappointed.

I just got out of Prison and got a car from my uncle to help me get a job. Within a few weeks I found a job. A month later I broke down on the side of the freeway. I looked in the yellow pages and tried several locations that were local but none had tow service and I had no money to cover those costs. I came across Moons Transmissions and finally was able to get someone who was willing to help me. I was hoping it was a minor job but it ended up being my transmission and i couldnt afford even a used one to be put in. Mr. Moon (The owner) heard my story and gave me a payment plan with a little down and the balance to be paid over a few months and EVEN allowed me to take the car when the repairs were done, while on my payment plan. Ive never heard of Shops doin this and I am just grateful to him for what he did for me. I remember one month I wasnt able to pay.....and I stopped by anyway to let him know I didnt forget our arrangment. He and his daughter were understanding. Its rare that people trust an ex convict like me so I made sure I paid off my debt....and my vehicle has worked great with 6 more months still under warranty!

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I have been taking my cars to them for 10 years and have spent thousands of dollars with them. I was referred to them by an older gentleman who uses them exclusively for his Cadillacs. They try to do things the most inexpensive way possible. If they can fix something without buying the new expensive part they will. They can do just about anything with a car that you need. Moon is a real Master Mechanic. They have even driven to where my car was stuck on the freeway to help me. I live an hour from their shop now that I have moved and for big jobs I will still drive to them. If something doesn't need to be fixed, they will tell you instead of trying to sucker you into doing things that aren't needed. I have complete trust in them.

A FEW WEEKS AGO I CRACKED THE OIL PAN ON THE BOTTOM OF MY TRANSMISSION I TOOK IT TO MOONS TRANSMISSION THEY SAID THAT IN THE PROCESS I MESSED UP THE TRANSMISSION ALSO AND I NEEDED IT TO BE REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SO I PAID 3000 TO GET IT REPACED WHEN I GOT IT BACK IT DROVE WORSE THEN BEFORE I BROUGHT IT IN. SO I TOOK IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. THEY TOLD ME THE TRANSMISSION WAS NEVER REPLACED AND EITHER WAS ANYTHING ELSE ALL MOONS TRANSMISSION DID WAS FIX THE CRACK ON THE PAN WHICH WAS STILL LEAKING FLUID BUT THIS WAS NOT WHAT I PAID FOR. MOONS TRANSMISION TOLD ME THEY REPLACED THE CRACKED PAN AND THE TRANSMISSION BUT THEY LIED TO BE AND IN THE PROCCESS GAINED 3000 DOLLARS. WHEN I WENT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC I WAS UNDER MY CAR SEEING THE SAME CRACKED PAN AND SAME TRANSMISSSION. I LOST 3000 DOLLARS BECAUSE OF THESE LIARS AND I DONT THINK I WILL BE GETTING IT BACK. DONT BE STUPID LIKE ME AND GO TO THIS PLACE.
