Dr Mirkin is one of the first Optometrists in the United States to receive Board Certification from the American Board of Optometry and is a Diplomate, American Board of Optometry. In addition to providing a thorough vision and eye health examination with the latest technology, Dr Mirkin fits specialty contact lenses including myopia control, scleral and corneal reshaping, treats eye infections, glaucoma and dry eye. Dr Mirkin is licensed to treat eye diseases with therapeutic pharmaceuticals including ophthalmic antibiotics, antiviral, steroid drops, glaucoma and allergy eye medications. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association and the Nassau County Optometric Society. Dr Mirkin's philosophy for patient care is to "give you great vision now and protect your vision for the future."

Our Topcon Maestro 2 Retinal Camera and OCT (optical coherence tomography) is the latest, most advanced technology to view and analyze the retina. Similar to ultrasound, OCT uses light rather than sound waves. More advanced than retinal photography (which can only view the surface of the retina) the OCT enables us to view the individual layers of the retina. The scan is non-invasive, painless, simple and quick.
