I would not even give this res...

I would not even give this restaurant 1 star!! I was downtown with my mother and son and decided to stop for lunch at the Irish Rose. We always see the commercials for it and it looked to be a nice restaurant. Big mistake! First we stood up front for a while because the sign said wait to be seated, only for the bartender to tell us to sit were we wanted. We were given a cheap paper menu that had about 10 things on it. I asked if they had anything for kids...they had nothing! So we sat for awhile looking over the very FEW choices we had for food. I decided to get the grilled chicken sandwich. So when I asked for cheese she gave me two options goat cheese and some other nasty cheese so I deiced not to get those poor choices. So my chicken came and it was a flat thin flavorless piece of chicken the "fries" that were potatoes thick slices and not cooked at all they were so hard and raw. I asked for ranch to flavor up my chicken...guess what, they do not have ranch! So as I was eating my horrible chicken sandwich I bit into something hard I pulled it out and it was a chicken bone, in the chicken that was suppose to be boneless. When I showed the waitress she was completely surprised and disgusted as well. She brought me a different sandwich which I did not enjoy either! The only thing I liked about that place was the homemade mayonnaise. I will never ever be back or for that matter the people I have told said they would never go there! I would saw If you are looking for a place to go late at night for drink then that would be fine but if you looking for a restaurant Stay away! Their choices are terrible and the food is disgusting. The owner of this place should be ashamed!

Overall
Bad food, TERRIBLE owner

My friend and sister hosted my baby shower here. There were sooooo many issues!!!

-room was not ready for us

-owner booked us for the wrong weekend

-food took forever to appear

-food was cold

-I (the pregnant lady) was not served (they forgot to place my order)

-refills were few and far between

-plastic was in my friend's food AND her fork was dirty

When the bill came, it was more than the agreed upon price, when they asked to speak to the owner, he was unavailable. After a lengthy time of waiting to talk to a manager or owner, the owner came down the stairs (he'd been there the whole time!!!) and he was screaming. He told us to get out of the restaurant (because we didn't want to pay for the meals we sent back). As we were loading the car and leaving, the COPS showed up. REALLY?!? He called the cops on a group of sweet women with an average age of 45? There's no way this business will stay open much longer.

Out of towner

I was in rockford on business and happened into this hole in the wall. WOW! I was very surprised to find great food for very little money, considering the quality. I think the most expensive thing on the menu was $14. I had the Almond Crusted Scallops with linguini and it was absolutely delicious. I would expect to pay $25+ for a plate of this quality. What are you waiting for? Get in there!!
