Never dealing with them again! I had a biopsy done at Women's Imaging. Before the procedure, they did not inform me of the astronomical cost of this procedure and their mandatory 6 month payment plan. When I received the bill in shock, I requested a reasonable payment plan and a detailed itemized bill. The billing department was rude and unhelpful. They even admitted that they cost more than other facilities. While waiting for the information i requested, I continued to pay $100 a month towards my bill. The billing department still sent my bill to collections.

On top of the billing issues, I walked into the procedure with a perfectly healthy arm and walked out with nerve damage. 6 months later, my arm is still numb and the Clinical Risk Manager tells me not to contact her about the issue, that I need to see another doctor to find out what is wrong with me. I was told that this is rare and my nerve damage is probably unrelated to the procedure. What a slap in the face!

Labor & delivery

I had a preterm labor scare and the RN Amber was extremely nice and helpful. I plan to deliver here in the months to come.

Pay upfront with no invoice of any kind

I was impressed with the friendliness and cheerfulness of all the employees I dealt with at the hospital from the nurses to those working in the billing office. What I found incredible though was that I had to pay upfront over $2000 without any kind of invoice that projected the services I was to receive. I would never be expected to do that with any other business. How can they get away with that? I have insurance and am willing to pay. But this was like being asked to buy a car or pay for repairs with no knowledge of what you were paying for.

Had to go here for emergency c...

Had to go here for emergency c-sec due to hypertension. Had to have blood taken over a dozen times with a dozen different staff from all over the hospital. They finally had to call the lab tech at my ob-gyn to do it. Staff is supposed to wash their hands BEFORE & AFTER each patient contact; I noticed that most of them didn't follow this safety protocol. When I worked at THR, I remembered that one of the reasons why we didn't get our bonuses was bc of safety issues--primarily, nurses not washing their hands. Anyhow, still had hypertension after giving birth so I was monitored regularly around the clock. For meals, the first night they gave me steak for dinner, and thereafter everything was overly salty for my restricted diet, so I had to have food brought from home. During the night, forget about getting any sleep. Their staff was extremely noisy.

Their billing/collection dept is horrible. Two times while I was out on maternity leave, their collection rep, Shannon York, left me messages to about my bill and set up a payment plan (I have insurance). When I returned to work and promptly called her, their idea of a payment plan was $650 a month for 6 months bc "that's the best we can do." (BTW, Baylor is alot more lenient and flexible with their payment plan).I sent in a financial assistance application since $650 is ridiculous (that's rent money to some people). I wasn't asking for charity, just an extension of my payment plan. While my application was being reviewed, I continued to pay $200 a month towards my debt. Come to find out, they had forwarded my account to a collection agency without ever telling me their final decision..all this after cashing the additional $300 I made earlier this month. I talked to Shannon York about it and she said she called me about it, but didn't bother to leave me a message. (How am i supposed to know you called if you don't leave a message). I asked her why she didn't send me a follow-up letter if she wasn't able to contact me. Her response, "That's not our process." Wow, I'd have to say that is probably the shadiest collection practice I've ever heard. I asked for the manager, Chandler Cox, to contact me twice and I've yet to speak with him. Just proves how shady they really are.

There's a Reason why THR-Presbyterian Rockwall is NOT in the top recommended hospitals in the nation much less in DFW area: http://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/area/dallas-fort-worth-tx

I recommend Baylor or UTSouthwestern..they're in the top 2. I only went here bc it was an emergency and it was close to my home. Never again...

Here's an update as of 2/9/13: So I got transferred to an outside collection agency called Medical Revenue Services. From my experience in the medical business, collection agencies are ruthless. I contacted them to dispute the amount THR had provided them. The rep I spoke with, Francis, was so nice and helpful. She offered to put me on a payment plan. She didn't calculate what is expected each month based on the balance; she just asked me what I thought I could pay. I wasn't sure, so she put in $100 to start with and I can pay more or less a month. Needless to say, I was pleased with the agreement. That's pretty pathetic when the collection agency does better than the hospital billing/collections department. BTW, the collections manager, Chandler Cox, never bothered to follow-up on my request for a phone call.

My Thanksgiving experience...W...

My Thanksgiving experience...While cooking Thanksgiving dinner I dropped a new very sharp knife on my foot. The knife sliced the area between my ankle and foot on my right foot. At first, I wanted to just strip it up and continue cooking my dinner. After the first 15 minutes I realized I could not put weight on my foot or stop the bleeding. I currently work at a local hospital, but chose to go to Presby with it only being 2 minutes from my house. I wanted to hurry home to my family and cook. I felt horrible having to go that day and that everyone at the hospital was away from there families. The staff that helped me were very kind and helpful. I felt like they didn't take it serious and thought it was just a cut. I work at a hospital and I take it serious when it comes to wasting ED time. I ended up seeing a PA who was just going to stitch me up. I had to stress I felt something wasn't right because I could not wiggle my toes or move my foot back and forth. The PA decide to look inside and explained she " thought " I may have cut a tendon or tendons, but she wasn't sure. She explained a surgeon would not come in for this, because he does this repair in his office. I was shocked, so I contacted an Ortho surgeon from my own hospital via text and he was shocked himself. He recommended I leave and go to the hospital I work at, because he felt I may need surgery. My Ortho surgeon friend was out of town and continued to call and text complaining about the care I was receiving. I allowed them to stitch me up and they gave me a number for a local surgeon. They said I should call the after hours number, because I should not wait more then three days. Remember Thanksgiving was on Thursday, so what office is open the day after or on the

weekend? I left scared and very confused not know what was actually wrong with my foot. The nurse that walked me out actually made the comment " Oh it's fine...the doctor said it's not bad at all." The following Monday morning I went to see the Ortho surgeon that I had text on Thanksgiving. Because Presby just stitched me up and didn't document the damage we decided to do therapy that first week. That next Monday I returned to his office and could not move my toes. I went into surgery the next day. My surgery ended up being over 3 hours, because the knife had actually cut through all 4 tendons right at the base of the large tendon. Because the surgery was not done right away the tendons had all retracted and it was not a simple minor surgery. After the surgery I wore a cast for 2 weeks, boot for two weeks without therapy, and then 4 more weeks with the boot and out patient therapy. Worst part I can not drive for 8 weeks, which has been tough with work, kids school, and the holidays. Presby made many many mistakes that day and it's disappointing considering I trusted them over my own fellow coworkers. Had they handled this correctly I would not be down near the time I have and will be... If you have a cold or ear infection I recommend you try Rockwall Emergency Clinic or Care United first and if it's serious take the extra time to drive right by Rockwall Pesby! I will and I will recommend everyone I know in Rockwall and surrounding cities do the same. I only rated it a star because it requires you to...They deserve a negative five stars!

I had a total knee replacement by Dr Aldrich on Nov 12th 2012. I have been in and to most of the hospitals in the DFW area. The care I got here totally ROCKED!

I would be back to that hospital for anything! Thank you for being a outstanding hospital

I dislocated my shoulder this ...

I dislocated my shoulder this past weekend and ended up in the ER at Rockwall Presby. I was in a LOT of pain and everyone was wonderful. The staff was sympathetic, helpful, quick... they had me set up and had gotten me painkillers within an hour. A very different experience from what I had when I dislocated my elbow 5 years ago and nobody at that hospital seemed to give a flying rip. The service & care I got here is what every healthcare experience should be but so rarely is. They actually seemed to care about fixing me up and reducing my pain. I was in & out in 3 hours. If they weren't so far away from where I live, this is where I'd go any time I had an emergency.

I Love Rockwall Presbyterian! ...

I Love Rockwall Presbyterian! On two seperate occasions they have saved my Mother's life. She has been in many hospital's and I can honestly say this is the only place I feel confident that she has the absolutely best care there is. The Nurses are PHENOMENAL! Even the Security Guard asked if she could do anything for me. A nurse on the first floor [short spikly red hair] rushed in and saved her this week. I can't remember her name, but, will always remember her actions. Within 1 minute they had her room filled to save her. I can't believe some people left negative reviews. They obviously haven't been to many hospitals. If I ever need hospital or Emergency care, this is where I will be. I have made that known. Also, I want to express our family's thanks to these very special and gifted nurses who alway's go above and beyond. p.s. to the DUMMY who said all these reviews are rigged, I don't know anyone personally, and am not affilliated with this hospital. I am just a daughter who loves her Mom and knows why she still has her on this earth.. THANK YOU TO ALL THESE SPECIAL NURSES. ALSO, THANKS TO THAT SECURITY GUARD WHO IS SO CARING. It means more than you know. when you are tired and scared, to have the friendly fasce and the kind words.
