Sutters fort is in the park downtown. You can walk around to each persons home and/or business and push a button and they talk about what happened to them.

Fun place for an outing. My kids really enjoyed panning for gold and the dress-up in old-time clothing.

Originally went on a school trip with the kids and then went back since the kids enjoy it so much. They enjoyed seeing the fort, the various rooms where they kept the supplies as well as watching the historical video of the fort. Old West at its best.

This is another place to take kids and out-of-town visitors. It is interesting to see how people lived in the early days of Sacramento.
