        Overall

        I've stayed at several of the St. Louis area casinos and Ameristar is by far my favorite. The only setback is that there are no dining availability in the wee hours of the morning and if you are in the casino frequently sometimes you want to eat at say, 4 a.m. Other than that - I am perfectly happy with Ameristar Hotels.

        This is a really nice casino

        When you become a Star Club member at Ameristar, you eat and drink free anyday. Requires 30,000 base points in a calendar year. $4 coin in per base point for slots, $8 for video poker. Appears that you receive around 5 base points per hour for every $5 bet at Blackjack. So a $25 average bet earns around 25 base points per hour.
