Add a mother of six, I have to say that I absolutely love this hospital. My kiddos now range from 35yrs to 11yrs and I've always taken them to this hospital. Why?...because they absolutely care...

Receptionist is rude I saw people leave while trying to register in the front. She raises her voice then if you can't find you in the system she puts you to the side to register others before you. Dr Berkenkamp will not diagnose your child correctly. She said my child just had a little fluid build up in her ear and a upper respiratory virus. She got no medication. The next day I went to her primary doctor she said my daughter was wheezing and had a major infection in her two ears. If you don't care to help children look for another Job. Will never go there again.

I recently went into the ER do to my light headed dizzy low blood pressure and fainting. as soon as I got there they did my blood pressure and move me to a recliner in another room with patience I were just sitting there. I'm guessing I wasn't that important. after sitting there for a few hours and going through a few test they discharged me saying they weren't sure what it was. I was very scared to go home do to my husband being at work I'm alone all day. I still have very low blood pressure and cannot walk around without feeling like I'm going to pass out. I wish the hospital would have took more time to try and diagnose me and let me know I was 1 of their priorities. I suggested a few test or thanks said it could have been do to my ongoing research but they just brushed it off & did what they wanted to and sent me home. this is the worst service anyone can possibly have & it is not fair that I have to sit here fearing for my life!!

A recent trip (July) to the Emergency Room of Methodist Hospital - Boerne gave me a first hand experience of what is wrong with our broken health care system. Spent a little over an hour in the ER with pain in leg. Charges were almost $3500 for hospital, doctor, radiologists, and medicine. Negotiated costs with insurance company brought that down to about $2000 which I had to pay out-of-pocket. Typical of these grossly out of line costs were for the medicine. I was charged over $460 for two shots of enoxaparin (80mg/100mg). I could buy these two shots from my pharmacy for under $50. What is worse is that they were probably not needed.
I came away feeling that most of my bill is to cover the ER costs of the uninsured. Unfortunately Obamacare is not going to address medical cost.
I recommend that everyone think twice before going to Methodist Hospitals. This highway robbery makes me ashamed to be a lifelong Methodist.

With 3 boys, I have seen the inside of an ER too many times! We have been to Methodist Children's hospital for most of those visits. We always appreciate the service by the nurses and doctors and have never been disappointed. We can always get answers to our questions and/or concerns. The last time we were there, my 2-day old infant was being treated for severe jaundice. We had the most polite and helpful staff assisting us in our son's health! I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone with children.

Hello, my husband was at he ER on January 2nd.09. We arrived at 5:30pm and he had severe abdominal pain at the time. We waited until finally at 11:15pm he was given a room. When he was checked at the triage, he told all of his symptoms and I gave them a list of the medicines he had taken, thinking it was an ulcer. I also told them that my Dr. who I explained everything by phone, had told me it was probably the appendix. The Triage guy at the time gave him 2 Tylenols for the fever. At 8pm I asked if he could have some water, they told me No, because probably it was the appendix. So why if they suspected appendix, why the wait. Then at 10:50pm I went again to the triage to tell a woman named Megan my husband had a lot of fever, she checked the computer and told me to wait. After five mins. my husband started to shake a lot, he was really trembling, so I went again to the triage to tell that my husband's symptoms were changing. Well this woman Megan, made me wait, she was doing nothing, finally she look at me very angry, (I think because I was with her 5mins before) without letting me speak, she started to speak with a very rude tone, telling me, we had to wait, then when finally she finished I told her I just wanted 2 tylenols, and I explained that my husband was trembling. Again with a rude tone, she told me of the politics of the hospital not to give anything, and I told her that before, they gave him 2 Tylenols, she was very angry. And believe me, I had to answer as calm as I could, because I thought that my husband's life was in that woman hands, she had the power to decide if we waited more or not, so I even thanked her and I looked at her name. And with a more rude tone she told me "Yes my name is Megan" and I just answered "yes that I can see" thank you". I just thanked that woman, and she was so rude, just because I was afraid of the power of decision she had. At that point I had just asked for tylenol, not to be seen first. I think if she has no compassion she shouldn't be receiving the patients. And if her job was to prioritize, then why she didn't read my husbands symptoms, that my husband had medicines that could have hide the appendix symptoms. So I think not only she was rude, she wasn't doing her job. By the way my husband had his appendix removed next morning, and it already had burst, he had pus, and infection. So if its a long weekend think another ER, probably all are the same, but this is the experience we had. By the way he was seen by a dr. until 1am january the 3rd.

My family has been treated at this hospital several times. Both of my children were born here and my son spent 2 months is the NICU. Very happy with the service they provided.
