The Department of Housing and Community Development is a part of San Diego County in California. The department is responsible for providing safe housing and rehabilitation business and residential properties for individuals and low-income families. It administers Section 8 rental assistance programs that include the payment of rent for tenants. In addition, the department offers a supportive housing program to promote the development of residential units and supportive services for homeless families. The Department of Housing and Community Development provides a variety of services that includes property improvement and the purchasing and construction of housing units. It coordinates with businesses, private sector agencies and cities throughout the county.
