Best Italian deli on the West side. You have to try the Godmother sandwich or custom to your like. Best way to order is online or call so you can avoid the one hour wait.

Bay Cities is everything one could want from a deli: delicious submarine sandwiches that are squishy with dressing, made with fresh Italian loaves and quality meats and cheeses. For years, the Provolone with Everything was my most coveted vegetarian meal.



Hot dishes are available to take on home, as are lovely delicaces like Italian and Greek olives, pates, pastas and a fine selection of wines and cookware. Shopping here is really an entertainment.



Now, the tables and benches outside are not pretty and you might be sharing your space with a winged stalker. And traffic on Lincoln is not particularly picturesque. You must realize that the food is THAT GOOD.....even these downers won't discourage you from returning again and again (its been twenty five years for me).

The wait is long but worth it and the Godmother sandwich is out of this world. I can't wait to go back Bay Cities anytime I'm in Santa Monica.

This place is great if you can stand the crowd and the parking lot situation. Their sandwiches are delicious and the bread is baked fresh every 20 minutes. They also have a wonderful wine selection and I have found some real gems here.

These guys are simply the best. I didn't even know you could oreder on line. The only thing I didn't like about this place was the wait. We ordered for 10 people and everything was just perfect.

Gone downhill, last two times I had godmother sandwhich it tasted nothing like it did 2 years ago.

Bread makes the sandwhich and this place bakes the fresh baguettes and rolls daily. Classic italian deli and market with all the authentic products...

MMMM...Good! This place was introduced t0 me 2 years ago and i have never stopped coming in to get my fix of pasta, hot sandwiches and pot roast. And my favorite part is getting their super moist muffins at the end of a meal.

It's a small nook in Santa Monica that attracts a lot of crowd. There are plenty of authentic Italian products sold in the tight market and fresh meals served everyday. The combinations are to die for (loved the roasted chicken and baked mac!). Come before lunch if you want to catch a few of the available outdoor seats.
