We bought a home from Kenar in June 2010 in their Ashton Pointe subdivision located in Crystal Lake, IL. Overall, we were pleased with the design, location, and quality of the home. However after living there about a month, we noticed some issues with the wood floor that covers most of the lower level. It was pitching at some of the ends making an uneven surface. We contacted the builder well within the warranty period to let them know of the issue. They had sent out the installer on a couple of occasions as well as the floor's manufacturer. Both parties pointed the finger at one another as being the cause of the issue. I even contracted a certified wood floor inspector who determined it was installed improperly and should be replaced.



Two years later, we are still with a damaged floor and the builder is non responsive. They do not return calls to us. I'm not sure of the financial stability of the builder, but if you are looking to buy anything they have built, I'd be very wary of them being there when trouble arises. Run fast, Run far!
