Gerel just inked my fourth tattoo, and I absolutely love it! She designed and inked the tattoo and her rendition was even better than I imagined it could be. She is the ultimate professional and her studio is clean and safe. I can't wait to get another one!

I was looking to get something really small without a lot of detail - should have been in and out within an hour EASY. The lady said she would go and sketch it and get me an estimate. This tattoo is about the size of a quarter. After sitting in the waiting area for what felt like a lifetime she came out quoted me $175 and said it would take an hour and a half. I am not the kind of person that haggles tattoos and typically I tip my regular guy $100 on a $200 tattoo but this pricing was just a joke (Not to mention the sketch was terrible and I would have never let this person touch me with a tattoo gun!!!). 3 weeks ago I got a tattoo at least 3 time the size for $100 flat and it took under an hour (Tipped $100 too but well deserved). This place will go out of business and fast if they really think they are going to charge potential new customers $175 for a tattoo that could have been completed in about 1015 minutes chair time.

Good luck Studio 29!

Just a while back got my first Tattoo from Gerel. Can not say enough positive things about her or the experience. Price? Who knows what is considered expensive. For something that is going to be on my arm the rest of my life the price for what was the end product would do again in a heart beat. Very skilled and very nice.

Waaay expensive

Based on these other two very high ratings, I went to Studio 29 (for my fourth tatt. she took an initial deposit before starting a sketch from the several pics/ideas I gave her, quoted me $100/hour, and estimated $1,000.00 for a tattoo on my thigh (there were lots of empty spaces). I'm going back to my original artist (Gerel even complimented the work he had done), and he was far more reasonably priced. Oh, and she does not negotiate. Nor would she take my suggestions for changes to her first rough sketch, without more money. Maybe she does good work, but at those lofty prices, I'll never know.

First off, I'd like to respond with a correction to the price estimate, which was $800 before I added the additional design elements that were requested after the initial drawing was completed. I spent quite a bit of time on this design which was a full thigh piece (about 8 hours) including the requested revisions. I did not request additional money to complete those revisions, nor did I request the usual deposit to book the appointment which is our standard practice to the hold the time booked since "troublmagnet" was very enthused about getting started on the tattoo. I did, however, decline to do any additional work on the design, when after booking a 4-hour sitting with me, he tried to negotiate the price as well as asking me to do additional work on the design. When it became apparent that he could not afford the tattoo, I did offer to rework the design to fit within his budget; however, he did not want a smaller tattoo based on the original design I drew for him and canceled his appointment. I understand all this was new to "troublmagnet" as he did tell me he had just gotten his first tattoos a few months before, and I did explain our studio policies and pricing before starting any work for him, and he agreed. For those of you out there contemplating getting a tattoo, here are some things to keep in mind: DON'T HAGGLE: If you're a bargain hunter, love to clip coupons and haggle at yard sales, this is neither the time nor the place. Once an artist has set a price, your options are to either take it or leave it. Haggling is disrespectful and won't do you any good. CONSIDER YOUR OWN WORTH: It's amazing how some people won't hesitate to throw down a couple of hundred dollars on new clothes or a cell phone--which will be out of style or obsolete within a year--but then complain about having to spend the same money on something that will be with them for the rest of their life. Even if you're not one to spend a lot of money on yourself, be prepared to splurge when you get a tattoo. When considering how much you want to spend on a tattoo, you should also consider how much you value yourself. Your tattoo will become a part of you, literally. It makes a statement to others about who you are. What will your tattoo say about you? TIPPING: Tipping your tattoo artist is not required, but it is a nice gesture. When you're already shelling out a couple of hundred dollars on a tattoo, you may think it's a bit much for the artist to want a tip as well; however, the artist usually only gets a percentage of the actual tattoo fee. Most of it goes to the studio owner who pays for the artist's supplies and provides them with a place to work. Most tattoo artists are struggling day-to-day just like everyone else and can really use a little extra cash. It's also just nice to show appreciation for their hard work. One last thing . . . GOOD TATTOOS AREN'T CHEAP; CHEAP TATTOOS AREN'T GOOD!

My Only Tattoo Artists

I can't say enough about Gerel (the owner) and her professionalism. She is warm and friendly and very easy to talk to about your tattoo (and while she's working on you in her chair). Gerel has done fabulous tattoo work for me. She not only gave me my first tattoo, but has done an exceptional job of customizing a very special Tree Add-on to the Red-shouldered hawk. With plans still in the works for more tattoos, I really can't see myself going to any other place or artist. Studio 29 is a great place to get your first, last, or in between tattoos. The atmosphere Gerel has created makes me feel very comfortable, and her demeanor is equally as comforting. I love working with Gerel, she just totally ROCKS! - "Moon and Hawk" Tattoo.

I just got my first tattoo fro...

I just got my first tattoo from Gerel, who is the owner of this wonderful studio as well as the artist who designs and does the tattoos. I am extremely happy with my new tattoo and will definitely go back when I am ready for my next one! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and casually elegant. Gerel is knowledgeable and friendly and took the time explain the process to me and listened carefully to my design ideas before explaining what would and wouldn't work; and how my tattoo design could be "tweaked" to work well as a tattoo while still incorporating the elements I had in my mind. Needless to say I am just thrilled with my tattoo and would recommend this studio to anyone who wants quality work done in comfortable, clean environment!
